This is weird for me because it is something I have never experienced before but today all I ate was a few pretzels and I feel so incredibly full (that I am used to though of course) but even now about 8 hours after eating those i'm still feeling nauseous really bad and I don't know why. Just the thought or smell of food makes me feel so nauseous why is that? Normally I act like food grosses me out when really I'm thinking something like "I wish I could eat that, maybe in a couple weeks or so" but now I can't even stand the smell or even the thought of it and It's driving me crazy..ick..

Hi lil_bit,
Sorry to hear you’re feeling sick. I too have experienced this nausea you’re talking about... mostly when I’m struggling with the anorexia. (I struggle with all of the EDs.) I don’t know if you struggle with severe anxiety but for whatever it’s worth I’ve found that my anxiety plays a big role in the eating and nausea. The minute a bad smell enters my nose or I see something gross, my brain flips out and doesn’t want to forget it. This makes everything edible feel inedible. Soon I find that even textures and colors bother me. I have a hard time separating fresh new experiences from yucky past ones. From a physiological point of view, I think anxiety plays a huge role again. Sometimes I’ll eat something fine and then realize that it’s not digesting right or making me feel nauseous. A lot of times it’s because I’m sitting there worrying about something. When we do that I think all of our blood is being supplied to our anxious heart rather than down to our full stomach where it’s needed for the digestive process. Not digesting something right could easily cause prolonged nausea. Paying attention to your breathing during and after eating might help. Sounds cheesy, but it has worked for me many times. I hope you feel better lil_bit. I send thoughts of comfort your way. ~ Bee __________________ Aerodynamically, bees are not suppose to fly...but they do! |

I dont have anorexia so im not sure, but i have bulimia and sometimes the acid in my stomach (why could also be from not eating), makes me nauseous. You may see if TUMS helps (if so, then its about the acid).
Takegood care of yourself. |
