bad day with the sugar, and also the fizzy pop- got through 2 leters of coke today which is slightly embarrassing

I did however manage my breakfast and dinner- and a refreshing hawaiian cocktail afterwards (non alcaholic)

Just taking One Day At A Time and trying to get through. For me, too much focus on the past or future leads to anxiety. Anxiety has been bad lately, too, didn't get to see the psychiatrist because of a mistake made where I go. I have to wait a month and may need a new antidepressant. I tapered myself off of Lexapro. Felt it was giving me worse anxiety and the tics got worse, too, OCD stuff that is. Been having a lot of thoughts of the worst things that can happen and panic with it. Thank God I have the Risperdal still at least.

The endocrine system is the glands that control all the hormones in your body. Hormones do a lot more than fertility, or sexual health matters.
With regards to consumption of sugar - the pancreas is part of both the endocrine and digestive systems of the body. It makes digestive enzymes that break down food. It also makes insulin, and glucagon, which control the amount of blood sugar in your blood. Blood sugar levels effect all uour organs and all the systems of your body. While your pancreas can adjust to occasional overindulgances in sugar, consistent consumption of too much sugar can lead to type II diabetes. A condition in which the pancreas fails to produce sufficient insulin to regulate blood sugar levels. (Type I is the production of NO insulin, and is typically genetic, or environmental)
...i hope i answered your question.

Do you know why you are choosing snacks and sweets over more nutritious meals? For comfort, or a desire to harm, or lack of caring, simple enjoyment, specific cravings, boredome, loneliness, keeping busy ??? I hope you feel better soon.

I just saw this question....thank you Gr3tta for answering the question so thoroughly. The damage to organs & the painful neuropathy that can happen when after many years of blood sugar problems.....I would hate for you to later regret what you did without knowing the possibilities.

I got Diabetes Type 2 from eating too much and too many carbs and candy. It's not fun at all. I have to watch everything I eat now. If I eat the wrong things my meter will tell on me and to the doctor who I show it to. I don't have to show it to him but I choose to; I want to get better. Too bad it took me to get this to learn to eat right. But anyhow, am trying to eat right now. The basics are the 5 food groups ( grains, veggies, meat or poultry or beans and brown rice, dairy, fruit) I have a little from all groups but for carbs I have no white bread, no white rice; whole grains like rye and whole wheat (there are many others out there, too), I only have berries as other fruit raises blood sugar a lot. Eating healthy now feels good and satisfying as I know I am doing what my body needs and every body needs.

I did a terrible job eating for myself today.
I provided specialized meals for both my pets and my wife... that sounds bad, i love my pets immensely, but my wife is certainly top priority. But for myself i ate very poorly.

thanks for the response, yes... I understand now- how interesting!. I love learning things.

as for why I choose sweets, who really knows

I guess it started because I just felt I had no control over which foods I ate (meaning I'd pick something healthy, my body would reject it, I'd sick it back up, and go for the sweets to be full)

then it came to the point where no matter how much I was eating, I wasn't full- so I just overate more- and yeah, I suppose harm has stuff to do with it too.

Possible trigger:

so I guess for me it's just a vicious cycle of all that

The sad part is that we may not have motivation now but later on in life when we are suffering because of the choices we made, we wish then that we would have had the motivation. Knowing possible end results that can be bad have many times been my motivating factor including with my own ED issues.

I'm intermittent fasting today as long as possible. Yesterday I actually ate 7 pieces of bread!!!! There was 5 pieces left in the loaf. This morning I tore that up outside by the bird bath. So the birds can enjoy the bread. Bread I don't like anywhere near me! I do like eating it. I also work out, tho. And I crave bread alot, from exercise? I want to avoid bread as much as I can, tho.

My day went OK. I ran this morning for quite awhile.

Possible trigger:

At this weight, I shouldn't be running at all, maybe walking some if that. Got to do better with it, but where to channel the stupid anxiety?!

Crazy how weight can fluctuate, especially for women.

Skipped breakfast. Had some Cheezitz around lunchtime. Not too hungry today. Hopefully, I will do better for dinner. H is working late, but my daughter will be home, so I'll have to make dinner.

Low nitrogen can cause carb cravings. Try combating these with high protein, such as meat, fish, beans, tofu, or quinoa. 😊

yesterday evening I abandoned all plans of a cooked meal and had a KFC.

probably not the best choice, but it was so yummy!. I had 8 peaces of chicken and fries (and a full fat coke), and though it was probably bad choice, it did fill me up- and the rest of the evening wasn't too bad, I settled back on my chair, watched women on the verge (or tried too, having focus issues), drank a bit more coke but didn't eat anything else

today though it's back to the drawing board

had my marmite on toast and shedloads (I'm talking shedloads) of jelly babies

it's not even 10 A.M

I managed to not smoke weed SO no munchies.

Drinking a bottle of water before eating is a great tip!

I need to either gain weight or go clothes shopping. Though we have no money. The Catholic church in town does have a Saint Vincent de Paul clothing closet you can access every few months with a utility bill showing residence and a few bills showing recent large expenses like hospitalizations, car repairs, AC repairs (we had 2 large car bills and 2 large AC bills this spring/summer along with my medical stuff). I might try them next week or shortly thereafter, but you usually cannot try on clothes there, just have to bring them back for re-donation and swap if they do not fit. I like my pants to be fitted, and they are all falling down at the waist even with a belt, even the ones that were tight a year ago.

Trying to eat breakfast. Slept 11 hours last night, but most of the week I got 5-6 hr. sleep a night, mostly closer to 5 hr. if FitBit is to be believed. H is working outside and wants a late lunch, which is good since I am trying to get more than coffee down.

I have to think Adderall is not having a positive effect on my appetite, but I did drop Wellbutrin recently (which is also known to suppress appetite). I am concentrating better though, able to read and such, and I do not want to give that up for appetite. But who does want more appetite with a stupid ED anyway?
