I had an assessment today at a small treatment center. They have no more than 10 in a group at a time. They don't bill insurance and are considered out of network. They do give you a super bill at the end of the month. It costs like $3300 a month. That has to be paid at time of service. The highest level of care is iop. Which is 3 days a week. 2 meals are to be made and brought from home, the other is catered in from a restaurant. My biggest problem is I don't like cooking. They referred me to a therapist and dietitian whom I have called. I have an appointment next Thursday with her. I still am not sure if I want to go to treatment there or wait until something in network comes up. I have another assessment this Friday with another program.

Dear Butterli42481,

I am so sorry that you are in the situation you describe. Expensive therapy is something I am familiar with from personal experience. Does the group you are in prove helpful? Wish I knew what to suggest to you in the way of advice but sadly I am at a loss. The whole thing sounds like such a dilemma.

Sincerely yours, Yao Wen

I'm not in a group currently. I haven't had treatment since 2018. I still have a psychiatrist. Just wanting a therapist and dietitian. I think I am going to look elsewhere for them. I just can't afford to pay up front. I need to use insurance.

That is expensive. You said in another post your depression has gotten worse. Did it get worse before of after your ED showed up again? In my case, my ED was caused by the situation that caused my depression & could not be resolved until the situation causing it was resolved. So many times ED treatment FAILS to even consider this because they think they know the causes when they don't have a clue (from my personal experience with treatment) only thing a dietitian can really be is someone to be accountable to. Seriously we all know how to eat right & what foods to eat if it was that easy.

Hope you can regain control of all the issues you are struggling with currently
