Do you ever feel stupid or bad about maybe having an ED when you don’t necessarily think you do because you’re not sure you meet the requirements? Besides failing to actually lose any weight because your eating is all over the place. Will I over eat today? Will I not eat enough? Will I somehow manage to eat the recommended amount? The world may never know. I always seem to feel that if there was a problem someone else would notice. I mean...history would suggest otherwise but that’s besides the point. -sigh- I’m not even sure what the point is anymore.

Most of us have an image in our mind of "what a person with an eating disorder looks like." We hold judgments about that and we think, "If I don't do this then I can't have disordered eating." The reality is that many people engage in disordered eating but they don't realize that's what it is because of societal standards. Maybe you actively restrict how much you eat or overexercise, but if you're in a bigger body no one thinks that's wrong. They may even reward you for restricting or overexercising, which in someone who is emaciated from anorexia would be a problem.
If you think that your eating is disordered or your relationship with food is problematic, then you have a right to feel that way and a right to the resources and treatment to help you fix that. I've recently been reading a good book that I would consider suggesting, and I also have been learning about Intuitive Eating. I think it's worthwhile to look into resources and options to help you find a good, healthy, sustainable relationship with your food and also caring for your body in a way that makes you happy. |

Yeah I guess that's true. Food and I have the weirdest relationship. I love it, but I hate it, but I obviously love it otherwise I wouldn't think about it as much as I do. But then I hate when I eat so I obviously hate it....The fact is eating is constantly on my mind and I don't know if that's normal or not. __________________ Because in truth, I am that monster.
