I am extremely anxious and worried right now. 😔

I just accidentally glanced at a notebook packing to go back home from our trip and realized it was my 13 year old daughter’s diary instead. It mentioned from a couple months ago that she thinks that she has an eating disorder, bulimia and that she throws up every day after dinner. I am very concerned. Any advice please on how to handle this situation? I do not want to let her know that I saw her diary but I want to help her with her eating disorder. Please, what do I do?

I'm sorry I didn't see this sooner. Best to get her a physical and make sure she's not deficant in vitamins. Take her to get her teeth cleaned they can tell and may bring it up to her. Make sure you get her teeth evaluated 2x a year and taken care of. Have water available in the refrigerator. Don't make a big deal about meal time. Don't do special occasions as meals. If all those tests come back okay. You may want to look into family therapy.

I think sooner or later, you will have to let her know what you know. She will probably deny it and get angry, but as parents we have to do what is necessary to help our children. You could also check out websites regarding bulimia, etc., and find out the best way to bring that up.
