I stopped taking Adderall last July and not even a month went by and I gained 20 pounds. Since then I have tried just about everything to lose those 20 pounds: dieting; what little exercise I can do; calorie counting; eating more fruits and vegetables; eating several meals throughout the day; but nothing is working. I absolutely cannot lose the weight.
I am worried that I am only going to keep gaining more and more weight. Any suggestions would be helpful as I am starting to become overwhelmed with the feeling of being overweight and unhealthy.

Overweight is not necessarily unhealthy. Keep exercising and eating fruit and vegetables, for health and not in order to lose the weight.
in the long run, losing the weight and keeping it off is very rarely successful. Dieting will most likely translate into weight GAIN, in the long run. Try to just do the right things regardless of weight, OK? |

I've found cutting down on carbs a lot helpful - bread, rice & pasta and eliminating sweet stuff except fruit & unsweetened dairy.
I did this because of having diabetes and gaining weight due to psych meds, and it contributed to me losing 30lbs so far. I found info about it on the Diabetes uk forum. I think if you're eating natural foods it can be a healthy way to eat. |
