Thanks It's been a long few years. Started with a question... why did my urine test show blood? Dr said period. I said not in years. He said low grade infection. I said in every test over the last few years. They sent me to a urologist. Months later He said there is nothing wrong but your uterus looks weird on the ultrasound. My family dr sorta freaked lots of test and on to a gynecologist. More tests he said it was texturing 98% sure it's nothing will retest in a year. Today he said it is not cancer!! I should have taken someone with me to listen to the rest it's hard to concentrate after the not cancer part. I will savor this one. Next month we start the testing for nerve damage and to figure out why my foot is numb.

Is it any wonder with all the stuff happening and stress not to mention medical problems and side effects of drugs we are having so much problem with weight.

Coming back to this thread after a hiatus. I went into IP rehab at the beginning of August, and decided to completely stop worrying about my diet, and just focus on sobriety. Unfortunately, it's been so hot, that I've kind of been pigging out on ice cream almost every day.

So yesterday, I finally got the nerve up to step on the scale, and was shocked to discover I was still at 194. So I haven't gained any weight.

I'm going to start tracking my food and trying to follow the diet my dietitian and I put together, on Mon.

Still haven't started exercising, due to a bad lingering headcold, but hope to start on riding an excercise bike next week.

Well, one good thing about being sick is I have no desire to eat ice cream. So when I weighed myself this morning, I'm down to 191. That's only 1 lb from my first goal of 190 at which point my health risks drop.

Also went to my GP yesterday because this head cold would not go away and she said I have a bad sinus infection so I'm now on antibiotics, and a prescription nasal spray.

Once I start feeling better, I'll start exercising.

I'm amazed at all the stuff I can find to do to procrastinate about exercising.

With all the vitamins and minerals I have been taking and eating meals I have stopped gaining!! And have seemed to stabilize my weight. But I'm also feeling so stiff and sore. Spent a while after my emg sulking the dr said that I had at least one pinched nerve and probably more which may have been brought on by Hashimotos. That was news to me. I was talking to a cousin who also has this and the only really big difference in our treatment is she is still doing exercises because of an old leg injury. But knowing and doing are two very different things and it's hard to get motivated when everything aches!

Hi..!!!
Glad to know that you realised the importance of healthy body. Even I am on my weight loss journey and I would like to share with you some of my secrets.
1) I start my day with a glass of green tea and take special care of my breakfast. I include lot of fruits and boiled vegetables with a glass of juice.
2) I cook all of my food in olive oil and try to avoid sugar & junk food.
3) My lunch and dinner include healthy food with necessary calories.
4) Also I tried a weight loss supplement called, that has helped me a lot in losing weight.

I weighed myself today and I've finally broken 190. Was 189 on the dot this morning. That takes me from being obese to just overweight. Still have a long way to go to reach a healthy weight, but this was the first goal.

Thanks Fharrainge,

Well I'm down to 187 this morning. Guess I need to make an appointment with my dietitian to talk about setting my next target goal. And I really want to start exercising, but I'm still coughing, and want to wait until I'm healthy first.

How did your dietitian appointment go? I saw my thyroid dr he told me not to exerciser. I'm thinking of ignoring him, I'm so stiff and sort a light program can't make it worse. Who knows I might even sleep better. I am getting very frustrated with him he sees me every three months will not do a repeat on my thyroxine and bills OHIP. Sorta makes me feel like a cash cow instead of someone he is trying to help. Grrr

htoun, thanks for asking - had to reschedule my appointment since I was ill. I'm now seeing her this Thurs.

That's annoying about your Thyroid Dr. not doing repeats, does he do bloodwork each time to monitor levels? Then it would make sense. And I totally don't get him telling you not to exercise. Most Dr's have always told me to exercise.

He doesn't do blood work each time which has got me thinking it an easy appointment to bill. I don't understand the not exercising either. Unless he thought I was going to do something stupid. A friend has asked me to join yoga we are going to price it this week. If someone is counting on me I'm more likely to drag myself there. We will see

You could be right about it being an easy appointment to bill. I feel the same way sort of about my GP. She charges patients $20 to renew prescriptions by phone/fax. So I always make an appointment to see her when I need a new script for the one med she does prescribe for me. But she gives me tons of repeats on it, so I only need to see her every 9 months or so, so it's really not too bad.

My meeting with my dietitian went really well yesterday. She's very happy I'm under 190 lb's, and we talked about my next target which is to get to a healthy BMI. My target goal, in my head was 150, but she said for my height the upper limit of a healthy BMI is 160. I have an appointment with my GP next week, so I'm going to talk to her too about my next target.

At any rate, I feel good about getting back on track with monitoring my eating, and sticking to my food plan. I'm going to start tracking my food again on Mon.

I also have a goal to start exercising next week, so we talked about good post exercise snack foods, which was helpful.

So all in all it was a good appointment.

Glad to hear everything is going well. I have been seeing the thyroid specialist for 17 years every 3 months. I should feel better by now. It's frustrating. I have found that the health food store "Goodness Me" has classes both in store and on line. I've signed up for 3 over the next month. Hopefully I can learn something that will help me balance my thyroid.

The friend I was going to go to yoga with has pneumonia. So that will be put on hold for a while. I'm trying to get motivated to do something at home.

htoun, I'd be incredibly frustrated if I'd been seeing a Dr. for 17 years with no results. Hope you can get some help at the natural food store.

Sorry your friend is sick - hope you can get to yoga when she's better. I can't do yoga to save my life.

I've made it down to 186 lbs which I'm happy with.

Still need to start exercising. I keep finding reasons to procrastinate.

186!!! That is wonderful!!

Well the first class at Goodness Me was very interesting. It was on pelvic health. Apparently there is all sorts of new information about it. My hips have been giving me pain to one degree or an other for 27 years. One of the people there was physiotherapist. She promised to take it easy on me so I signed up. You should have seen her eyes get huge when I told her my dr said not to exercise. I may regret it but pain free sounds really nice. First appointment is next Thursday. Cross your fingers.

Glad you found the first class helpful, and good luck with the physiotherapist. I can imagine her reaction when you told her your Dr. told you not to exercise. That's just crazy unless you have a bad heart or something.

Congrats on your 186! I joined weight watchers online in june. Their online food and exercise tracker is very convenient for me to use. I am just sticking with it, slowly by surely. I find your posts informational and inspirational
