This week, I spent hours and hours weeding in the yard, organizing the garage, sweeping, mopping, and cleaning the house, walking to the post office...and overall, I ate very healthy with very little cheating, and even most dinners I ate my own food rather than my parents cooking. And yet I gained 3.7 pounds! What the hell!? What gives? What did I do wrong?

I don't know LL. Around my cycle, I get bloated and gain weight, then lose it when it's over. Maybe it's that for you too. Also if you're gaining muscle at all, you'll gain weight.

I believe that exercise can cause water gain. I am not sure how but my best guess is that the muscles use water in the repair process. And you don't have to be killing your self. micro repairs are enough for your body to hold on to some water.
I always gain weight when I start exercising. I also think that if you exercise regularly -- 3 x per week - your body keeps the water around. |

My weight just stalled when I was exercising. I’d lose a pound here and there and then just plateau for weeks. I would try upping my calories and it wouldn’t work. I’d try lowering my calories and it wouldn’t work. Then I got lazy one time and I skipped my exercise for a few days but I was still eating low cal and I dropped 3 pounds in 2 days. Now I just work at my active job 5 days a week and eat low cal and the weight comes off pretty quickly.
So at least for me exercise caused my weight to stall. Why this happened, I have no idea.

It's so frustrating isn't it? I don't even want to get on the scale because it makes me feel bad about myself.

It might be water weight.
I went to an all inclusive in Mexico last month. I ate my heart out and had one alcoholic drink per day. I came home four pounds lighter. The body is a mysterious thing. |

Maybe not for you, but someone else may find it helpful.
