I was 151.6 today. I’m really hoping to be below 151 tomorrow. Today I had a couple laughing cow cheese dippers that had 100 calories each. Then they had BOGO free pretzels at Sonic. So two of those and a cup of cheese was 630. Then dinner will be a lean cuisine and that’s 250 calories. I also had a diet Snapple that had 10 calories. That leaves me with 110 calories for an afternoon snack.

2498 calories. I will weigh myself tomorrow. It has been several days since I have last weighed myself. I will set my watch alarm for this.

I've lost 4 lbs. I only weigh myself every week or so to get an accurate picture since weight can fluctuate from day to day. I'm happy about this because I started gaining a bit back after just hitting my 100 lbs weight loss goal.

I was close to 1500 yesterday; just slightly over. This morning I was at the gym and did the ARCTrainer for 80 minutes and then a little bit of upper body work. I logged that as 500 calories.

T minus 50 days until I get my shoulder scoped. I definitely want to be in the low 150s going into that. The likelihood for eating more and moving less for a few days after that is high. Because of my substance abuse history, I will only be taking NSAIDs for pain and the higher doses of NSAIDs wreak havoc on my gut; having it pretty full helps. I will have to be careful about choices.

I will weigh tomorrow. I feel pretty good about being on track again. It still concerns me that I had enough weigh ins in a row below 155 to believe I was there and only 6 weeks or so later had several in a row flirting with 160.

I will not keep trying to convince you otherwise because how often we weigh is a personal decision, but I will try to explain my thinking one last time before I drop it. Trying to get an accurate picture despite day to day weight fluctuations is exactly the reason I weigh often. Lets say I weigh every 2 days and my weights are 159, 156, 158, 155, 157, 159. That means I weigh around 157, even though the scale only said that once. What if I do every 8 days instead of 2? Day 1 (159) to day 9 (157) is a 2 pound loss - awesome! But day 3 (156) to day 11 (159) is a gain of 3 pounds - not awesome at all. If I am tracking them often I know I am around 157 this week and maybe next week they will be bouncing around 156 instead.

If it bothers you to see your weight often, don't weigh often. But if you want to cancel out the effects of fluctuations, you can't do the math without enough data.

I'm not sure why you replied like that? I've never brought that up before, I haven't even posted in this thread for weeks....

Think you're referring to the user piggy momma, she was the one you were talking to earlier about your opinion on weighing frequency.......I haven't posted in this thread in a month

How very strange. I wonder if something is up with the web site.

This is what I see (shrunk the browser for an easier to see screen shot):

That is my post, but you replied that "you will not keep trying to convince me otherwise" and will "drop the subject" as if I've posted about this before

When I posted that I wasn't arguing with anybody's method of weighing, I was just making a note that I hadn't weighed myself for awhile and why, plus updating that I had lost a few pounds. Another reason is that I am recovering from an eating disorder. If I were to weigh myself everyday, it could cause me problems mentally.

When I read your post it seemed like you were frustrated because we had had this conversation before or something but before that post I made about losing 4 lbs I hadn't posted in over a month and even before that I never said anything about my weighing method

Maybe it's just confusion, sorry I didn't mean to make you feel like I was arguing with you.

Yeah, it's confusion on my part; I thought we did have the same conversation and it was probably someone else. It might even be some other forum. I have had someone debate me about claiming that more data makes for more accuracy with similar phrasing.

I sincerely apologize. I certainly would not have posted that if I realized you have an ED. Please forgive my muddled thinking.

169 pounds. I should look for a job, but I am feeling depressed. Still, it is worth trying to run. This can help me with my mood. I made up my menu for today. There is a projected 2485 calories for today. However, if I run, I will need to consume more. I think this will be difficult. So somehow I may need to adjust for higher calorie foods.

I have introduce reagular daily helpings of meat into my diet. I have always been low on protien in the past. Now I exceed my protien requirement whch helps with exercise and building muscle. I find purchasing meat in quantity, and using the FoodSaver to package it in servings before placing the meat in freezer, works well. I find Costco’s prices are excellent. Most of the meat I purchase is relatively inexpensive pork.

PS I wonder how I can assess the calories for beef that has been dry aged. I have been doing this with a slab of beef. Dry aging tenderizes meat by breaking down the muscle fibers, so less protien is left. Also the meat loses at least 20 percent in weight.

I weighed 150.6 today. I wonder if tomorrow I’ll be 149 something or if my weight will shoot back up like last time. I’m watching my sodium today. I haven’t had any pickles or any soup. My calories equal to about 1200. I’m hoping I will be under 150. That’s going to be a pretty big deal to me.

I went 100 over, but I was shooting for only 1500 and logging 500 for 80 minutes of cardio this morning may have been a little low. But 1600 net should be a deficit.

156 this morning. Normal breakfast, but will likely only have one other "meal" today. One of my kids is hosting a Christmas potluck/social that lasts from mid afternoon until semi late night. A lot of the same group came last year and requests were made for more of some home made items that are worth making trade offs for. I will get some rolled up sliced turkey off the meat tray and some veggies off a snack tray to get something that resembles a balanced diet. But those home made chocolate mint bars that are supposed to put in a return appearance are amazing. Also a creamy pie that resembles the Jello brand no bake "cheesecake" (which I love). If I am careful, I will come in okay on calories. I may hit the gym tonight.

I was 150 exactly today. I’m so close. Today I’m having the usual laughing cow cheese dippers. I want a blue bunny loaded sundae that has 420 calories. So my lunch will have 230 calories and my dinner will be a lean cuisine which will have 330 calories. It all adds up to about 1200 calories. I’m hoping for the best tomorrow. Even 149.8 I’d be happy with.

I went bonkers with treats last night; my wife brought home a few home made desserts from a gathering she was at. I guessed ~1000 calories. I went to the gym late last night and did the ARCTrainer for 2 hours. Plan to try to eat light day today, even though a key lime square is calling my name. One of my kids had a gathering yesterday also and after I left they wiped out all those desserts except the key lime squares. Key lime is one of my top choices in desserts; I am surprised it was the least popular with them. I even found some unfinished pieces cleaning up and they are squares around 2". I am really glad the kids wiped out a pie that seemed to be cream cheese mixed with whipped cream and chocolate chips and topped with a sugar glaze.

So I will work out Monday morning and weigh Tuesday, committed to make sure it is ~157 or maybe less. I think the 156 yesterday was a low spike, but maybe not. All those weights just under 160 could have been high spikes with some of the choices I was making. I am definitely bloated today; I can even see it in my fingers. My ring doesn't slide as easily..

EDIT - I think I guessed low taking 900 for yesterday's dessert splurge. I poked around for the key lime square and cheesecake (seems likely the pie has similar calories) and remembered I had a couple of finger pastries and a cookie also. I took one of the highest ones I could find for the key lime square (the home made ones are very sweet with crumbles and top and pastry bits throughout). It could have been closer to 1500. I might exercise without logging it tomorrow.

I overate yesterday. Today my weight was 153.8. I have a doctors appointment in a little over an hour which I’m kind of worried about. The last time I saw him I was 174. I was 157 with clothes on at 5:30 this morning. His scale always reads like 3 pounds heavier. Then you have to factor in the time difference. It really might not be that huge of a loss. I’m just hoping for the best.

Today my calories are about 1200.

I was 157 at the doctors too. The doctor didn’t even mention the 17 pound weight loss. I guess I’m glad he didn’t mention it.

My weight today without clothes is still 153.8. I have my meals planned out, but I still have 190 calories left that I’m not sure what to do with.
