I have not lost weight but neither have I gained weight. So I am regarding that as a plus.In the new year I will redouble my efforts to cut high sugar and junk treats out of my diet.I have been measuring my sugars and they have come down.So things are not too bad really. They have been and could be far worse.I am going to the doctor tomorrow to have blood taken for my annual diabetic review.

Another day at 170 pounds. I started really late having my first meal. Great. No way will I make my target of 2500 calories. I have to stop doing this. There is no reason for this. If I am in a hurry, I can make a couple quesadillas, or even a PBJ sandwich which has allot of calories. Otherwise, when I wake up in the morning, that is when I need to eat my breakfast. This will be a good start to the day.

I had a deep fried Twinkie for dessert. But the grocery kind and not the carnival kind. So it only had 220 calories. I also had an entire bag of frozen zucchini. Which had 75 calories. My calories today ended up being around 1,215. I’m hoping to be 152 tomorrow. It’s funny to go from 150 exactly to 153.8 in just one day, and then really having to work to get that almost 4 pounds off that came on so quickly. It just goes to show that maintaining will take a lot of work.

I was 151 exactly today. I’ve had 710 calories so far today. I’m not sure what I’ll be having for the rest of the day but I’m trying to stay around 1200 again.

Yet another day at 170 pounds. I have been at 170 for about two weeks. There are a couple exceptions. I ran about two miles. I am out of shape. This is what happens if I do not run for a month and a half. My heart rate topped out at 80 bpm. Probably not a good idea.

I think I know why I am gaining weight, albiet slowly. I had started to not exercise eliminating that as a variable. I stood with 2500 which I though would help me gain some weight. So apparently I have been gaining weight. Also a couple weks ago, I had a total of a rack and a half of ribs. This amounted to maybe 800 or 900 calories per day. This probably helped too. I also did not closely track my calories back then.

Before then, I was using a base of I think 2200 calories. Between this and having days where I came up short, I think this is what helped me lose weight. I had been basing my calories burned using my MET approach, which started I think sometime in October. When I did this, I appeared to have been able to maintain my weight for a significant period of time. Since I am exercising now, we will see where the MET approach takes me this time. So 2200 may be where I can keep my weight stable as long as I consistently meet my target. At 2500 calories, I appear to gain weight very slowly, but at least I am gaining weight.

I have consumed 3000 calries. I do not know what got into me. I ate TWO cups of icecream. I burned only 213 calories, which makes for a target of 2713 calories. This is 300 calories over. This means 2200 calorie target for tomorrow. I am not exercising tomorrow. I will exercise every other day until I get in better shape, like I was a month and a half ago.

I was 150.2 today. I had 850 calories so far today. I’m not really sure what else I’ll be eating today. I’m pretty sure though based on my stress levels and how my stomach is in knots, that I’ll be under 150 tomorrow.

170 pounds. I have consumed 2,382 calories today. I still have the overage of 30 calories from yesterday. No exercise today. I will exercise tomorrow to burn off the overage.

PS I wonder what happened to UpDownAround?

@Tucson - I meant to post a couple of days ago and forgot to click the Post button.

I weighed 157 a couple of days ago. Yesterday I didn't log about 80 minutes of cardio and went only a little over 1500. Today I did 50 minutes of cardio and haven't logged it; debating whether or not to log any calories for it. I weigh tomorrow. I hope to get in the low 150s before Christmas.

I had a cup of macaroni and cheese last night which had 250 calories. My calories ended up being 1100 for the day. I just didn’t feel like eating much after a stressful event.

Today my weight was finally 149.6. I have a full day planned that includes a bag of vegetables, a granola bar, and some string cheese along with 2 actual meals. It all adds up to just over 1200 calories.

My weight is still 170. I ate too much. I spent too much time talking instead of paying attention to what I was eating. Today I had anywhere from 2800 to 2900 calories. So this is over by as much as 500 calories. This would of worked if I did my planned exercise. I need more discapline to be in place. I will run in the morning with no overage in calories. I think I even have another overage of 500 calories coming from a couple days ago. If I were exercising allot, like I had planned, this overage would not have been as much as a big deal. I hope I am not returning to my old eating habits. My depression has not been helping either.

Barely under 156 this morning, which was a surprise. I ate more pizza than I should have last night. I had a light breakfast and a rich treat for lunch, still leaving me plenty of room for "taco soup" (very chili like) and cornbread for dinner. I will probably do my regular Saturday night gym session. I might weigh again tomorrow, though with my night time gym session I may see another low spike. As odd as it sounds since I was expecting it to go the other way, I think this morning's weight was low.

I was still 149.6 today. At 10AM I had a granola bar and a string cheese and a diet snapple Which had 280 calories. I had a box of fish and chips for lunch. That had 680 calories. For dinner I’ll have a box of green giant Brussel sprouts in butter sauce. That has 150 calories for the whole box. I might just have another string cheese to make it to my 1200 calorie goal, unless I can find some frozen zucchini when I go to the grocery store today.

Up super early so I can drive a kid to Dunkin in the snow. I weigh 157, which is no surprise. I worked out but then came come and had a really big bowl of the salty taco soup. More than I meant as I was putting it in containers in the fridge and thought there wasn't much in the bottom of the crockpot and I would just finish it. I suspect at least a pound is water retention.

My weight is 168 pounds. A couple days ago, I consumed 2777 calories, and perhaps a little more. Yesterday, I had consumed 2252 calories. No exercise on both days.

I am trying to figure out why I have not been gaining weight. I was at 170 for a few days. So what happened? I have been up and down on calorie intake. In this regard, I was doing better not too long ago. Before I can pinpoint the problem, I will need to more consistently meet my targets. Reviewing my prebious calorie consumptions, I do not see a problem yet. There have been a couple days short by several hundred calories, but there have been days over by that amount too. For the time being, I will stay with foods that I can accurately assess the calories they represent. Also every time I eat a food item, I will document it shortly afterwards. Sometimes I do not remember very well what I had earlier in the day. I do tend to overestimate the calories of porportions of food. Maybe this is a factor? This is good for weight loss, but not weight gain.

I was still 149.6 for the 3rd day in a row. I’m wondering if I plateaued. I’m trying to have a cheat day since I give myself one a week, but my anxiety keeps getting In the way so I’ve barely eaten so far today. But i will hopefully be having some prime rib and fries and soup for dinner.

I have read that if you plateau it’s helpul to eat at or slightly above maintenance for a few days and that should help. It’s has helped for me. Once I started focusing on my active job instead of cardio I’ve never majorly plateaued.

Weight loss is not linear. I wouldn't worry about it for at least a couple of weeks. It won't be that long.

Stupid overeating day for no good reason. Sweet tooth attack. No gym tomorrow; don't want to risk the ice in the AM. Maybe Tuesday or Wednesday.

158 this morning. Not too bad since I am pretty sure it is a spike. I also have to keep putting things in perspective. I went way over yesterday, but goal was a deficit and the actual surplus would only cause a gain of an ounce or so. I did return to my old ways and rolled some of it over, but I won't keep doing that day after day.
