I pigged out yesterday and my weight was 159 this morning. Today is not going great; way too many treats again. I did work out this morning after weighing, I had a "major bathroom event" and if I put a stop to the eating, I will probably be about this weight or less tomorrow. I have bad laryngitis from post nasal drip and feel like I always need something soothing going down my throat.

I was 150.8 today. I said I wanted to be 150 by Thanksgiving so I got what I wanted. Although I was 153 on Sunday. So it seems a little extreme to be 150 already. I think it’s just the stress and anxiety from work.

2 days ago I was under 156 and yesterday I was over 159. Bounces happen. While losing, I only paid attention to the lowest number I saw as I knew my trajectory was in that direction. I worked out again this morning. I had a bunch of unlogged food yesterday afternoon and evening. I have laryngitis from post nasal drip and I was making poor choices on what to coat my throat with. I am not logging the exercise this morning and shooting for a low goal today. Not sure how tomorrow will go. Had a blow up at home last night that may not end well in one respect and possibly for the better in another. Things were said that should have been said long ago.

Kind of a cop out, but I am not going to weigh for a few days. Overeating again today and probably will tomorrow. I will try to offset after that. So I keep saying, but I have stayed in my range.

It's actually healthier to way less often than more, so not a cop out at all. It is normal for your body weight to fluctuate within a few pounds. Always frustrating when it goes up, but it'll often come back down again.

I weighed in at 169 pounds. No exercise. I wanted to wait a couple weeks and I have done just that. My baseline calorie count appears to be 2,500. I will start running a couple miles every day or other day. I probably am out of shape anyway. That should burn at least a couple hundred calories. I should be able to handle this amount which will be folded into calories that I need to consume. I have consumed 2090 calories today. Lets see if I can eat another 409 calories. This is what I get for not paying attemtion to the time in order to make sure I can eat enough foid to make my goal by the end of tye day.

Update:

I had a hot cocoa with a shot of whiskey. I do not know what I liked better, the chocolate flavor, or the whiskey. I will say both. So for today I have consumed 2680 calories. This is an excess of 180 calories. Tomorrow I will go running. I guess I will have to run allot to make up for those calories I will consume during tomorror’s feast.

I disagree about the health aspect, but would be interested in seeing any data that might back up what you are saying. I like to weigh frequently exactly because of the fluctuations. If you weigh infrequently you may think you see a rise or fall between two weigh ins because one was at a spike up and the other down. Weighing infrequently gives you fewer data points and therefore less accuracy. If you weigh frequently, you get a better idea of how the fluctuations average out.

According to the data at the National Weight Control Registry, 75% of people who have kept 30 or more pounds of weight loss from coming back for more than a year weigh themselves at least once a week. I will be eligible to participate in that study in 3 months. Anyway, if you follow the link from that summary page into the detailed studies, the correlation of frequent weighing to successful maintenance continues to rise all the way down to daily weighing.

From failures in the past, my own anecdata corroborates that infrequent weighing seems to be a contributing factor to unintentional weight gain and by the time I noticed it required a major effort rather than a minor adjustment to get back on track. Because it was a major effort, I would put it off. The next hing I knew, I had gained a lot of it back, sometimes all the way back up to my highest obese weight. Then after a while (sometimes quite a while) I would get motivated again and the cycle would repeat. Weighing often is one of the most important things I am doing to make this time different.

It is possible to succeed without frequent weighing; it just isn't as likely.

I am near the top of my maintenance range. I lost ~65 pounds to get below a BMI of 25 and the top of my range is a little below that. I have a 10 pound range so that I can stay inside it even with spikes. I think it's a cop out not to weigh for a few days because I know some spikes will go over and I am avoiding seeing them.

I’m not sure on my weight. Tuesday morning I was 150.8. Tuesday I had 1200 calories or so, but I had one of those gigantic pickles. It probably only had 20-30
Calories but probably 3000 milligrams of sodium. So when I weighed myself yesterday I was 152.8. Which was 2 pounds of water weight. Then I had a cheat day yesterday and I ended up getting a stomach bug of some sort last night and throwing up a ton. I didn’t weigh myself today but I’m guessing my weight was pretty low. Today is Thanksgiving and I had planned on eating whatever, but my stomach is still really off and so far I’ve had about 200 calories in iced tea. I don’t have access to the scale anyways until Sunday morning. So I may see a pretty big surprise Sunday morning.

169 pounds. I really do not want to go running. I feel depressed. Life has given me some unexpected turns, good and bad. Actually this may be a good reason to run.

Pickles can really make it seem like you are packing it on. Some of those big hot and spicy ones have as much sodium as a salt shaker. Those are a snack that is too hot, too salty, too sour, tears are rolling down my cheeks, I know I will regret it later and yet I can't stop eating it.

Yet they barely have any calories and are so good. It really does suck. I rarely eat them anymore.

It's just a meaningless spike; no big deal. This is an example of why I like weighing often, to see things like that and better understand fluctuations. Anyway, pickles are low calories and have nearly zero effect on your actual weight. It's not a set back to your progress to spike up with water weight. A big sodium day every now and then is not a health concern unless you have specific issues and your doctor has warned you about it.

Yeah I weigh often too. Everyday if possible. I get a lot of flack about it from people who talk about obsessive thoughts and disordered thoughts and on the path to an eating disorder. In reality weighing everyday just keeps me on track and I’ve pretty much kept my weight off for 3 years. I’ve never been diagnosed with an eating disorder.

My weight is 170 today. This probably is due to yesterday’s cornucopia of fine tastely foods repleat with dessert, an apple pie and a banana pie, both from Coco’s bakery. I simply could not eat anymore. I was a pig. All I could fit down my gullet was a half a slice of the apple pie. My ex packaged up some leftover food. I may only be able to exercise later today. For some reason I am feeling very weak.

BTW I have found out from reliable sources on the Internet that Cocos has the reputation of surgically injecting calories in each of their pies, effectively doubling the original calories. I think they patented the technique. Cocos must of licensed out this technique to Marie Callenders. The restaurant also makes great high calorie pes.

I pigged out big time yesterday with some calorie dense desserts in the mix. I did not weigh this morning. I have not eaten yet today and it is almost lunch time here. I will go to the gym later today or tonight.

EDIT - going to eat 4 oz of turkey breast for lunch

I haven’t been able to weigh myself. So far I have had one mini sub at 300 calories and a drink from Starbucks at 210 calories. I’ll probably just have a small dinner.

I decided to face the music and weigh this morning. 157, which is a couple of pounds lower than I expected. I did go to the gym last night; ARCTrainer for an hour then worked upper body for only 10 or 15 minutes. Snacked some, not heavily, when I got home. I am probably not severely dehydrated, so the weight is probably close to correct. Still staying at/under 160. Still want to drop lower before Christmas.

I am back to weighing 168 pounds. I have no idea of the calories that I have had over the previous couple days. I do know that I ate less calories yesterday than I did on Thanksgiving. What made this difficult is that for Friday, I ate some of the leftovers given to me the day before. I do not know the calorie value of the leftovers. This is nothing to get in the way of running today. This will help take my mind off of my money problems.
