What do you recommend for healthy snacks? That tends to be weak time when i eat junk food. I want to be healthier, and controlling my snacks is the best way to do that.

It seems that the only truly healthy snacks I hear about are veggies, like celery and carrots. Or sliced beet. That's definitely good, but my problem is that veggies aren't very filling and I still feel hungry. So I'll usually eat flax seed oat bars or similar. Then I hear that "sports bars" are not really healthy. So I'm left wondering what the heck IS a healthy, filling snack?
Hopefully someone will have some ideas and post them here. __________________ |

My dietician told me today to add onto my meals. So the crackers I’d eat for a snack I’d add them to the soup I eat for lunch. Then add oatmeal in addition to my breakfast of peanut butter, and then add a banana in addition to my dinner of scrambled eggs. That way I’m not eating snacks all day but I’m eating more at meals. I found it very helpful information. I only ever eat like 6 different kinds of foods every day though.

Healthy snacks for me include pre-portion out handful cashews or walnuts or eat a banana, or pre- portion out handful or two of Chex mix, or small bag healthy popcorn. To satisfy sweet teeth, but not go overboard on calories sometimes add a few peanut m and m’s to Chex mix or popcorn.
