Since some can’t reply to that other one I created my own.
Personally I’ve used the my fitness pal app. Then I started Noom a few weeks ago. I think of my goals to help motivate me. My hips don’t match my shoulders so button shirts can be an issue. I had one tailored and it cost me $40. More then one of the shirts. Not sure how to make something bigger in a certain area though. I need to start walking though. What about you guys? __________________ Ridin' with Biden |

@Mountaindewed and all:
I do my own calorie-reduced plan according to The Canada Food Guide. It is a good common sense plan, heavy on the vegetables, which my doctor says i can have as many of as my heart desires. Luckily i never met a vegetable i didn't like. I don't care for MyFitnessPal or NOOM so i keep a spreadsheet of my cals and macros in my iPhone's spreadsheet app called "Numbers." I aim for 1200 cals a day but allow a max of 1500. The numbers add up pretty fast, let me tell you. 1200 to 1500 cals is not a lot of food! It's a challenge but i am enjoying it. Like @buddha1too, i am naturally competitive. I'm okay with competing just with myself. Did you read my idea about you and i going on a home-prepared food challenge on another thread? What do you think? Starting the day with water instead of pop! Yay! Had raspberries, grapes, oatmeal and a protein shake for breakfast. Off to a good start today!!! Have a beautiful day!!! Jane. |

I legit feel better mental health wise and also physically when I don’t eat that great. These last few days I was eating Atkin shakes and RX bars and vegetables and salmon and I think the bars and shakes may have been messing with my mind a bit. Maybe a med reaction or something. But today I didn’t eat great but I feel better then I had been feeling. I took a 20 minute walk today which helped my anxiety. So yeah I do believe that walking makes you feel better physically and emotionally.

I walk 30 to 45 minutes a day most days on the treadmill. Plus I walk everywhere I go since I don’t have a car and I live in NY state so it’s easy to walk places/get around without a car. And I’ve been trying to stick to around 1200 calories. I’ve lost 2 lbs the past week.

I couldn’t walk today. I did walk up a lot of stairs twice despite an elevator being there. I ate healthy. According to my Noom stuff the more healthy you eat the less unhealthy stuff you’ll crave. Besides my cases of soda and a box of candy bars I don’t have any unhealthy food in my house. I have stuff like cauliflower crust pizzas, Amy’s TV dinner, sunflower butter, nuts,RX bars, turkey burgers, salmon, and soup. I haven’t been craving much of anything bad and I’ve majorly upped my water intake. I had salmon and quinoa again for dinner. I started drinking whey protein shakes today. They have 110 calories per scoop and you can mix this kind with water instead of milk. I asked the guy at the store what the best stuff is for weight loss and also muscle gain and he had something exact. I’m not going out to eat because I have no desire to eat out. It has nothing to do with Covid really.

Oh! Interesting that Noom says that! I usually notice it after the fact though - if i havent eaten enough good stuff, then i am really craving junk. So yes, i have to be proactive and eat regular good stuff in a timely manner, otherwise i picture myself in a snickers jungle.
