I've lost 3lbs so far. Yesterday I was on target to be at about 1600 calories but I had such a migraine before bedtime and nauseous so I had some toast. Still came in at a deficit and today weighed in 3lbs down. So all good.

Today I'm on track but feeling kind of hungry. Going to have a cup of chicken broth and then switch to tea. That usually helps.

I'm determined to stick to this and get back and down and reach my goal.

I'm tired of this.

I guess I’m doing okay, normally do a longer run on Weds but it’s windy out there especially along the coast where I go on longer runs so I stuck to my shorter circuit which is 5k. My sciatica has been twinging but was okay today.

Eating wise I’m reasonably okay, my husband pointed out I was actually snacking more when I gave sugar products up for lent, which I hadn’t realised. So maybe I was sensing a deficit, moderation seems the answer but I’m not good at that.

Healthy food is ridiculously expensive, my sister lost weight through fasting. She apparently swears my by it so I might try it myself.

The can of tuna I ate for dinner is giving me a headache. The Cadbury egg and donut I had earlier were fine. My protein is higher and my carbs are lower for once though. Weight wise I seem to be heading in the right direction. I made a more reasonable goal for myself. 160 instead of 140. I started walking too and I'm not drinking 5 cans of soda a day either.

I swear the only things that don't completely upset my stomach are plain types of pastas and plain kinds of rice. I like pastina and gannachi both with no sauce and microwave cups of plain brown rice. I've heard of people living off rice I think. Or was it potatoes. I don't remember.

How is everyone doing? I thought this week was a write off as was unwell so no long run but got a couple of short runs in and tried a different route which helped vary it.

I tried a beginners Pilates class on YouTube, it was pretty good with clear instructions and definitely manageable hoping it helps my sciatica which has been flaring up on runs. Then I was on a roll as it’s raining outside so got the exercise bike out finally and tried a beginners YouTube spin video- hard work for me but manageable. Just need to keep that up, I definitely benefit from more variety.

I've been losing weight because of meds and side effects and yeah on purpose. that Jif peanut butter with Ludacris is making me want to start up the peanut butter again. It pisses my mom off when I eat a tablespoon measured straight from the jar. So I have to go eat a couple pieces of steak tonight so she doesn't yell at me about food. I either get yelled at by my mom or nagged at by my therapist about how little I eat these today.

And my mom yelled at me.....

Hey Mountaindewed, I get a little worried about you when you post about how little/restrictive food you eat. It sounds like other people in your life do too.

When I was younger I had an eating disorder and some of what you write really reminds me of what I used to be like. I’m not an expert but I know that eating limited foods can lead to physical problems.

I’m not wanting to scold you or tell you off and of course you can ignore me but I wonder if you’re aware of any reasons you might be feeling like you are compelled to restrict food? Sending gentle hugs.

Lately I've just been feeling too sick to eat a lot but I also want to lose weight too. I'm working with both a gastro doctor on the physical stuff and my therapist on the eating disorder stuff. Its hard to tell sometimes which is which though.

That’s good you’re addressing it with professionals, I can see it’s difficult to know which is which with a couple of issues.

Today I had 2 hazelnut Uncrustables, and that was it to eat. I did drink a 30 gram protein shake though so that was good.

My stomach issues sucked a lot of the day and I wasn't very hungry. I had an Uncrustable sandwhich for breakfast. A Hot Pocket for Lunch. A small ice cream cup and a piece of bread for a snack with my meds. I also had some flavored Diet Cokes this morning and half of an RC cola. I'm only at 985 calories for the day. Maybe I'll try some stuff on the BRAT diet. Or just give up for the day. I'm pretty tired right now anyways.

I did okay this week - 3 runs including one longer one of around 10km, I’ve got 4 months to the half marathon so going to hold steady a while on distance before I step up. I got a swim in too which was really nice and one micro session on the exercise bike to an 80s mix on YouTube.

Funniest session of the week was my first attempt at a dumbbell workout via YouTube with my son’s 5kg weights. I did reasonably okay but one move I ended up with my arms pinned to the floor in fits of giggles. I do think I need to do weights though as that has been lacking for me.

I didn't do badly today but I'm still low at only 1035 calories. I'm trying to get up the energy and the appetite to eat a Hot Pocket. If I just finish the last 14 oz of water in my water bottle, I'll have made it to my 85oz water goal.

I've put on some weight and I was wondering why. So I went back a year ago on the myfittnesspal app. A year ago I was eating string cheese daily, and having chicken or fish most nights. My carbs were always under 180 and my protein was over 70 grams. Now I'm struggling with getting over 30 grams of protein and staying under 220 carbs. The weight gain would make sense. Plus probably some of the other stuff I'm dealing with. I have some string cheese in the fridge, I'll start with that.

Checking in, ran 3x last week although my long run ended up shorter as was struggling, I’m finding the longer runs a challenge although I’ve hit 11km a couple of times. Swimming once a week still but not been consistent with weights or Pilates or bike. I got access to a health app via my GP and thought why not, it basically prompts me about two new habits daily. Mine are taking vitamin D and doing 12 crunches, it doesn’t seem much but I guess it’s how it works, smaller change is probably easier to stick with.

Oh and my eating has been much better with warm weather, lots of salads and Mediterranean dishes. Not craving sugar either which is excellent.

I still don't eat much of anything, but I don't eat fried foods besides some potato chips and the occasional slice or 2 of pizza. I'll eat Lunchables once in awhile. I'm into RX protein bars and Clif bars now. I still drink soda though. I'm eating kinda better just not enough.

Nobody likes being berated it might have been better if they’d supported you to lose weight healthily if that’s what you wish.

Oh my. My long run today was a bit of a struggle and not helped by having to rush to the toilet, runners trots not being much fun, then my leg seized up and I couldn’t run at all. My planned running Buddy for the half marathon in September might not be running at all after a pretty devastating family bereavement which has been so horrible as to put my whines and niggles in perspective. So not feeling 100% positive about training.

I’m going to try to get along to swim tomorrow as the pool will be off limits in the summer holidays.

If anyone else is still following this thread then hope you’re doing as well as possible too.
