I did the 10K runner program again today, finished off week 9 day 3 with a 5 min warmup walk, 10 min run, 1 min walk, 10 min run, 2 min walk, 10 min run, 3 min walk, 10 min run, 4 min walk, 10 min run, 5 min cooldown. That was 50 min of running in all. I lost count of how many km I ran. That whole workout was 70 min long, pretty darn good workout though I have to say I only got through the last 5 min of the last 10 min interval on sheer willpower alone. That was HARD. The program gave me an intermediate runner level badge today. Man, you have to run that much to get to be an intermediate runner?!! I may just repeat parts of week 8 and week 9 to stay in shape now.

That’s a lot of running blueberry! Seems like a jump?

I did a nice run this morning which takes me along the seafront, as we go into autumn there’s a patch there whereby the buildings and sudden bend in the coast combine to make a wind tunnel of sorts, that knocks me a bit, but other than that it was nice early autumn conditions. I checked my distance and it’s 6k which seems just right for me.

Yes, that was quite a jump at running discombobulated! Well, I guess a 10 min jump technically from last time but the program has gone from 35 min total running to 50 min total running in less than 2 weeks, I think! Man, 50 min. is stretching it for me even if the runs were broken up into 5 10 min segments with increasing walking segments in between.

I would find that a big jump too, in the past I tried to increase distance by 10% a week - that always worked okay.

I'm at 1,150 calories, 152 carbs, and 50 carbs. I'm not too hungry, I had a protein shake, a granola bar, a donut and a can of hearts of palms. The scale was at 215.4. Down from 222.2.

I got some frozen fish and asparagus and more beef jerky today.

I ended up eating 1,450 calories, 179 carbs, and 84 grams of protein. My sodium is bad. I've been hungry but also lazy today. So I had a bag of beef jerky for dinner which was good protein wise but just a bit of a mess sodium wise.

10% a week sounds like a good increase for jogging, much more doable than the leap my program made.

Today I jogged and walked. I used my program from yesterday with the walking in between 10 min running segments but only went for 3 segments, 30 min of running total with walking in between and the 5 min warmup and cooldown walks. That worked out pretty well. I am liking jogging in 10 min segments, at least up to 30 min total.

Sodium makes me CRAZY hungry, like bottomless pit hungry. I dont know why. Ive never figured out an antidote. Sometimes when my gut gets weird, like from a mild food poisoning maybe?, i crave like mass quantities of mostly carbs, like trying to absorb and push out all the bad stuff. Then i feel better. Sorry, definitely TMI!

The scale was the same today. I had 2 Uncrustables and a beef jerky steak for breakfast. I also had a can of the new Halloween Mountain Dew. I'm at 630 calories, 95 carbs, and 21 grams of protein. Todays breakfast is a lot better then yesterdays which was 460 calories in coffee and a 350 calorie donut.

The scale was 214.6 today. I have more energy even just from a 6 pound weight loss. But its also from adding in more protein and just eating better in general.

Today I started week 10 of 10K runner, OMG, it was 5 min warmup and cooldown, 5x12 min run intervals with increasing walks in between of 1 min to 4 min. I made it to around the 55 min. mark of total running before it hit me pretty hard, the last 2 min. I was chanting to myself "only a little more, you can do it, make it past that road, make it past that tree, you can do it, just a little more..." well, you get the picture. I did have some dissociation going on during the 4th run interval, but I guess if you're going to dissociate while running, at least it was on the park footpath without traffic and during a 12 min run interval! But, OMG, that gave me an 80 min. total workout with the program, even the last part of the walk home was tiring! This is probably my limit on doing the program, I don't think I am going to follow it all the way through to 10K, that is just too much for me!

I had breakfast afterwards and while waiting on my coffee, I was idlely reading the nutrition label on the container of cottage cheese (part of my breakfast was cottage cheese with peaches), and I didn't realize that a serving of cottage cheese has such a high daily value of your protein intake (25% of the daily value of protein). Pretty good as I need to eat more protein with all this running!

Putting away groceries this morning, I've realized too that I've shifted not only my own eating but my husband's and daughter's eating nearly all the way away from having so much junk food for snacks. I rarely eat junk food now, and maybe once a month I buy some chocolate or cookies for H & daughter but that's about it. We are all eating so much healthier though the main meal still isn't always as healthy as I'd like; however, we only eat out on special occasions nowadays (birthdays, anniversary, Mothers & Fathers Day), primarily to save money because eating out has gotten so expensive, and when I cook meals at home, they tend to be much healthier than meals we'd get eating out.

I had a nice workout this morning. My program had a more manageable run time; 5 min warmup walk, 25 min run, 5 min walk, 15 min run, 5 min cooldown walk, so only 40 min running. To my surprise, I ran the 40 minutes easily! It was one of those awesome runs where I felt good the entire way. I was careful to keep my jogging speed a bit slower so I had the energy for the entire run, maybe that's what did it. I wasn't completely exhausted by the end of the run; I felt great

That is great to read @Blueberrybook hard to believe you’d be describing a 40 minute run as more manageable, just a while back you wouldn’t have thought it. It sounds like your longer harder runs may have upped your stamina possibly?

No running from me, but I’m aiming to get out tomorrow morning for a pad about.

I was 214 excatly today. I've had 755 calories, 127 carbs, and 50 grams of protein. So at least my food choices are decent.

@Discombulated
Those type of runs are hard. When my legs are heavy like that, if I make it 5 min I'm lucky.

I meant to just walk today, but I started the 10K runner program on autopilot, and I decided to see if I could do the running. It was pretty much a duplicate of yesterday with a 3 min walk between the 2 running intervals instead of a 5 min walk. So it was a 40 min total run today broken up into a 25 min run interval and then a 15 min run interval. I did it, and it was another one of those really good runs where I felt strong and did not struggle near the end of the run. The program gave me a 53 min workout total, which is awesome, and by the time I'd walked home, it was an hour long workout.

At the hospital this morning with a t shirt and jeans and shorts and shoes on I was 219. And on like September 7 I was 222 without clothes on. So I'm losing. Idk what I'll eat today.

Oh yeah. I for sure don't reccomend the salted caramel popcorn ones. Especially mixed with cider flavored sparkling water

I have to get my protein powder delivered. I had asapargus for lunch. It was kinda high in sodium. Idk what I'll do for dinner. Maybe cereal. I don't really know what I'm doing besides cutting back on coffee and soda. Maybe a bit of intuitive eating and not so much planning. It works for some people.

Currently I'm at 650 calories, 100 carbs, and 50 grams of protein. I know how to lose weight. Its just the sticking with it issue.
Sounds like you have a great plan.
