75 minutes of low intensity cardio, grey and blue Orangetheory zones.
I read yesterday that low intensity cardio is good when you have a bronchitis (I do), so I decided to try it indeed I feel and breathe better. Did those 75 minutes as a mixture of: - rowing machine - recumbent elliptical -recumbent bike __________________ Bipolar I w/psychotic features Last inpatient stay in 2018 Geodon 40 mg Seroquel 75 mg Gabapentin 1200 mg+Vitamin B-complex (against extrapyramidal side effects) Long term side effects from medications, some of them discontinued: - hypothyroidism - obesity BMI ~ 38 |

I've had a serving of almonds, a sumo orange, a piece of cheese, an Atkins bar, and 120 calorie pack of pistachios. And a can of Coke and a small coffee. Either I'm nauseated or anxious today but I'm not in the mood to eat. I'm at 956 calories, 145 carbs and 23 grams of protein.
I may figure something else out later. I know I'm low. __________________ I'm Blue |

Ugh i need to go on dr nows diet. I gained 20 lbs since i started insulin. If his 500 lb person can lose 50 lbs a month, i can lose a proportional amount, right? Protein and veg for me from now on. Like im gonna follow that.
ETA - Okay, friday lunch went okay. Tuna over riced cauliflower and one tortilla, 15 gm carb. Thats cutting my carbs waaaay down from usual, and i feel good and energetic and not hungry. I need to keep shooting for the energized. I think my parents used to overstuff me at dinner in order to just calm my butt down. Last edited by unaluna; Mar 01, 2024 at 05:15 PM.. |

Went to a 60 min yin yoga class. It was my first time doing yoga while having vertigo. It made for an interesting, rather enjoyable experience.
Had 8 oz of warm water afterwards. In 30 minutes will eat a complete meal. Maybe then my head will stop spinning. __________________ Bipolar I w/psychotic features Last inpatient stay in 2018 Geodon 40 mg Seroquel 75 mg Gabapentin 1200 mg+Vitamin B-complex (against extrapyramidal side effects) Long term side effects from medications, some of them discontinued: - hypothyroidism - obesity BMI ~ 38 |

Made a meal! An iron-rich meal. Cooked ground beef in my new cast iron skillet. Then added onion, sauteed them. Then added canned diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and some water. Cooked all of that on medium for some time. I know that makes iron from the skillet emit into the meal which is good for me (I am anemic). Then I added dried thyme, oregano and black pepper. Then I cooked while wheat spaghetti, adding frozen peas to the boiling water at the end. Then I ate this and fairly quickly became full. Did not want to finish the dish. Packed leftovers for tomorrow. That was some time ago and I am still feeling full and now will go to bed. I am afraid to jinx it, but it looks like my hunger pangs are gone.
I wore my weighted vest today. Both while sitting and while standing. I count that as extra exercise.

I actually lost a pound now that I'm off the Wellbutrin and back on the lamictal instead. Today hasn't been too bad and my hunger has been fine. I've been a bit heavy on the sugary drinks though. I ordered some more Atkin meals and some bottled water. I like the vapor distilled kind.

My weight has moved down by a bit. I am trying not to be overly optimistic.

I get its not excercising but I did get 3 huge piles of laundry folded that have just been sitting in my closet. And I got another load done that I washed and theres one more in the dryer. It was a lot of clothes that have just been sitting there for a few weeks. So I consider that movement.

I just read some place that doing laundry is considered exercise if you are carrying heavy loads of clothes.

This is from Cleveland Clinic:
"At 50% to 60% of your maximum heart rate, you’re using 85% fat to burn calories. At 60% to 70% of your maximum heart rate, that drops to 65% fat being used. And at 70% to 80%, you’re only using 45% fat to burn calories." How Heart Rate Monitors Benefit Your Health. I have tried slowing down to hit the lowest intensity range. I can do it on the recumbent bike/elliptical. I cannot seem to do on the rower: even if I go slowly, my HR rises.

And if you are taking a beta blocker, you will just never get your heart rate up, so all that goes to heck, and you are left with a metabolism slowed by about 200 cal / day.

I weigh 215 pounds and I don't know why. I have gained 15 pounds this year. This time last year I was 170. The most I eat in a day is 1680 calories. I eat a lot of low carb stuff. My protein is decent. I know I have the bad soda habit but I do drink a ton of water. But just yesterday I was 212. I can always gain but never lose.

My metabolism definitely is slower on propranolol, according to my watch I’m burning not much more than 1,300 kcal even on an active day (even when I was half marathon training), before it was nearer 2,000. My heart rate is slow, resting and also the peak rate is lower than it was. I guess the severity of the effects would depend on type and doseage as well as the individual.

When I read about the soda I thought of my son, he used to drink a lot and it coincided with a big weight gain, he went on a health kick this year and completely quit sodas, he’s lost quite a bit of weight already. He totally quit soda because he felt even just having some was undoing his exercise and healthy eating regime. Have you tried cutting the soda out for a bit? |
