I did 10 minutes on the treadmill and I've done well with my eating. I was going to do another 10 minutes on the treadmill, but I'm not sure. My 8 and 10 year old nephews are here today and immediatly saw it and said "oh a treadmill!" And my mom told them it was strictly off limits. Kids .. with my almost 2 year old niece I'll have to put it under the bed.

I did 10K runner again today. I am on week 3 day 2. It was 2 runs of 1.5 min. each and 2 runs of 2.5 min. each. By the 2nd 2.5 min run, I was really feeling it. Thank God the last run was one of the 1.5 min. runs, and it did help that the song on my iPhone that came on was High Hopes by Panic! At the Disco. But at this rate, I will have to repeat week 3! I can try slowing down my jogging, but my perception at least is that I'm jogging very slowly already.
This walking and jogging is starting to tone up my abs though, which I'm quite happy about. __________________ Bipolar 1, PTSD, anorexia, panic disorder, ADHD Seroquel, Cymbalta, propanolol, buspirone, Trazodone, gabapentin, lamotrigine, hydroxyzine, There's a crack in everything. I've had 1,170 calories today. Kinda high on carbs and low on protein, but its just one of those days.
My doctor raised my lamictal. Idk if it will do anything to my appetite or not. I know lamictal is normally weight netrual but it can cause loss of appetite. __________________ I'm Blue Last edited by Mountaindewed; Jul 30, 2024 at 04:03 PM.. |

Cool song to finish on Blueberry!
I found Monday’s run tough too, it was back to intervals interspersed with walking but I felt very lethargic which may be connected with time of the month. It’s been warmer here too - I have no idea how you hot humid climate folk manage! Tomorrow’s is two 10 minute runs with a walk in between and I’m going to aim to get out nice and early, lots to do tomorrow. |

I guess maybe I should listen to my doctor when he says eating less and working out will help me lose weight. I'm down a few pounds. I've been using my treadmill a lot and sticking pretty good to around 1200 calories

I did 10K runner again this morning. Week 3 day 3. Ugh. I am finding it harder and harder, but I slowed down my pace (barely jogging now, just a little). Today it was 2 2 min. runs and 2 3 min runs with equal walking times in between. I had some frustration this morning with getting MapMyFitness to work, and had to download MapMyWalk on my phone (I like to see how far I walk & run). I walked the long way home b/c I still had some frustration over my Map program not working. Didn't realize until the end that I had covered 4 miles! When I walk after 10K runner I usually aim for a total of 3 miles.
After doing this program & walking consistently I have pretty nice legs now And my stomach is starting to tone up and my upper arms too. I'm not really losing weight, and I don't need to lose weight, I'm a normal BMI, but I have been wanting to tone up rather than lose weight. __________________ Bipolar 1, PTSD, anorexia, panic disorder, ADHD Seroquel, Cymbalta, propanolol, buspirone, Trazodone, gabapentin, lamotrigine, hydroxyzine, There's a crack in everything. That’s great news about your legs toning up Blueberry- I bet your Pilates is helping with that too.
I did my 2x 10 minutes runs early yesterday morning while it was still cool, I was okay at the time, I’m definitely a morning runner. But afterwards I got really tired and had to take a nap, I couldn’t do the chores I needed to do. I have running group tonight and may give it a miss. We’ll see. |

I've been doing more intutive eating. More for my GI issues then for weight loss. So far I've had 590 calories. My carbs are good. Protein is kinda low.
I'm at 960 caories now half of which I've yakked up. Seriously how can you get sick from 5 saltine crackers. Whatever. I need to do shopping soon for yogurt and **** I've been out of. __________________ I'm Blue Last edited by Mountaindewed; Aug 01, 2024 at 02:24 PM.. |

@Discomboluated
Not looking forward to 2 10 min. runs when the max length I've done so far is 3 min. Don't know how you did it. How did your running group go? @Buffy01 I HATE when that happens! Weight fluctuations can by SO frustrating! I walked/jogged 4 miles today. Probably a bit too much for me, lucky I went early b/c the highs are creeping up out there, and humidity is AWFUL. It never really cools down much at night. Probably will not do 10K runner until Sunday or Monday. I will then be on week 4. __________________ Bipolar 1, PTSD, anorexia, panic disorder, ADHD Seroquel, Cymbalta, propanolol, buspirone, Trazodone, gabapentin, lamotrigine, hydroxyzine, There's a crack in everything. I've only had some Ritz, Saltine, and Cheez It crackers and a Dr. Pepper today. The good thing is my stomach issues are under control. I'm at 910 calories and 130 carbs.

Blueberry, you can always repeat weeks if you don’t feel ready - I couldn’t run in your temps and humidity, I go out early, it’s cool and breezy. Have you tried air conditioned gym?
I didn’t go to running group this week, I was too tired and had some chores I needed to do so I messaged my apologies. It seems a nice group though and I like there’s no men in it as the dynamics change with men (they tend to be more competitive). I did the 25 min run this morning, had a little mental battle at the beginning where I just want to stop, but I plodded on and let my mind drift and soon 5 mins became 10 and then over half way. It’s a clever program. I am feeling improved muscle tone in my legs and that’s a good feeling. No desire to do anything more than 5k though! |

@Discombobulated
Yikes, was that a 25 min run straight?! I did week 4 day 1 on 10K runner. It was 2x3 min. 2x2 min walking, 2x4 min runs, 2x3 min walking with the 5 min warmup & cooldown. I think (and hope) this 10K runner goes at a bit slower pace before amping up as much as yours! I did walk & jog some to get home, going a total of 4 miles. Now I'm obsessed with making a new playlist for walking/jogging. What songs does everyone use for walking or jogging? I need some new ones though I am going to keep High Hopes by Panic! At the Disco and Paper Planes by M.I.A. Maybe a couple others I can't think of off the top of my head. __________________ Bipolar 1, PTSD, anorexia, panic disorder, ADHD Seroquel, Cymbalta, propanolol, buspirone, Trazodone, gabapentin, lamotrigine, hydroxyzine, There's a crack in everything. My weight today was 214.6. Idk except that I've been eating this box of bacon cheddar Cheez Its and a lot of pre packaged salads.

25 minutes felt okay, I wanted to stop a couple of times but I managed to zone out, it’ll be 25 mins next week then 28, then 30 for the final although I won’t be at 5k. Music at the moment is a mix of retro - Def Leppard, Bruce Springsteen and some cheesy disco, Runaway by Loleattta Holloway. Cheesy seems to work well for me. |

I did OK with week 4 day 1. Yeah, I might stop when I hit 5K, only this program has better coaching than my knockoff couch 2 5K. I was actually pleasantly surprised that I could do week 4 day 1. Humidity was a killer though at 88% according to the weather website. However, the day 2 of week 4 has 2x5 min. runs & 2x3 min runs, and I'm a little anxious about whether I can manage the 5 min. runs. Time will tell.
Today, I walked and jogged without the 10K runner. In some places, I jogged longer than I thought I could, which probably means I won't do day 2 of the week until Tuesday. I'll see how I feel tomorrow morning. Covered 4 miles today and feel pretty good afterwards. I hope I won't be regretting this tomorrow! __________________ Bipolar 1, PTSD, anorexia, panic disorder, ADHD Seroquel, Cymbalta, propanolol, buspirone, Trazodone, gabapentin, lamotrigine, hydroxyzine, There's a crack in everything. Taking a rest day today. I feel a bit guilty about not exercising, but my body is exhausted. I need some recovery time.

I did 10K runner. I' did week 4, day 2. I think the creeping up pace is slower than your couch 2 5K @Discombobulated.
Today I had 2x3 min. runs which afterwards had 2x2 min walks, and 2x5min. runs with 3 min. walks after each, plus the 5 min. warmup & cool down. The 5 min. runs were a bit of a challenge, but I did them I walked home from there, covering a total of 4 miles including the 10K runner. __________________ Bipolar 1, PTSD, anorexia, panic disorder, ADHD Seroquel, Cymbalta, propanolol, buspirone, Trazodone, gabapentin, lamotrigine, hydroxyzine, There's a crack in everything. My eating has been weird. I think it might be med related. I'm not in the mood for legit meals. Just packaged salads, crackers and M&Ms mainly.
I went up on my lamictal then a couple days ago I started a different kind of probiotic and a couple different kinds of antacids. I haven't even had any zero sugar soda today. Which is good I guess. Last edited by Mountaindewed; Aug 06, 2024 at 05:29 PM.. |

Well done Blueberry! Sounds like you’re making good solid progress. Yes it’s definitely a different schedule to mine, you’re getting more running time generally even if shorter run bursts.
I’m on week 7 now, I should’ve run on Monday but I was so tired after work then volunteering and it was warm and muggy so I decided to have a cup of tea and a biscuit instead lol. I ran this morning first thing, it’s cool and windy today, so ideal conditions. The intervals are over now so it’s all solid running, 25 minutes today, steady and felt okay - I think I find stopping and starting harder. I definitely handled the hill easier today which is progress! Happy exercising all! |
