Going online. I go on too much. I'm not a happy person, but the internet has always saved my day. :|
When I was depressed, I could only turn to my computer as my sanity saver, but now, it's just a bit of a time waster. At the same time, it gives me something to do, because at my place, I just don't want to be with my family. I don't know what to do! 3 hrs a day is too much I think. And also, my new phone has internet! ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I've got an internet addiction myself, I get on when i'm bored.
I'm also addicted to chatrooms. Do you go on any chatroom sites? Also, The thing I do to stay off the net is keeping myself busy and intertained, like watching TV, Inviteing a friend or 2 over, cleaning, doing some yard work, walking dog, ect. Hope this helps |

I discovered that I tend to develop the same addiction. Therefore I simply stop the computer for a day or two or three and read books, see movies, write or do chores (that I haven't done for long) and I check how addicted I am and noticing how I feel I just laugh at myself! When I feel better I just go as much as I can OUTSIDE and walk through the parks or simply on streets enjoying paying attention to surroundings.

If you don't want to socialize with the family, can you get out and about - outside of your place? Get a hobby or join a group that you can socialize with?
If it's at all possible, can you cancel the internet plan on your phone or downgrade/upgrade to another phone that doesn't come with internet? I've got a phone that has the capacity of getting on the web but it costs nine billion dollars a minute so I don't go on it. Money is a very motivating factor! I'm no good example of beating an internet addiction though because I think I spend way over 3 hours daily on the internet. ![]()

Rainbowz- I totally know what you're saying about the boredom!
![]() ![]() My new phone's just not helping either.. Gabi925- I'd never laugh at myself for that unfortunatly. I'd just beat myself up, get stressed, and probably find my way back here somehow. ![]() ![]() Christina86- Getting out of the place isn't a big thing for me, but on the occasion is always nice. ![]() ![]() Ack! I wish! I asked the lord of the house (father dearest, of course :P), and he didn't like the idea! He pays for it, and I should be greatful, but this is too much.. Money. It's a damned devil, I tell you! :O Yeah, I've been trying to work on it these days, and I'm getting there. *sigh* Idk though.. I'm sooo sorry this took me so long to answer! I had no idea, until today, of course, that there were responses!!! Again, I'm SO SORRY!! :O :O :O |

Internet is addicting, People say addictions are in the head, but there not.
Internet drugs, and tv are addicting. there just like food, when you get hungry, what do you do? The first thing that comes to mind-eat. It helps if you delete or block some things you go on. Like me, I'm addicted to profile sites like myspace, and game sites XD But I actually got over this addiction by doing something that interests me more-swimming. =]

I am always online but I think it is more out of boredom than anything. I have tried other things but always come back to the computer. I guess I am in the same boat as you!

I agree with Skully - I don't think it is necessarily an addiction. At what stage does it become an addiction? I'm also online A LOT!!!

I'm trying to do other things. I wish I still had a family to interact with; I would certainly do things differently than I did as a teen. Old and wise is nice but not if you can't fix your young mistakes.
I was getting good at doing yard work but it's been raining. Now I'm going out of town in a couple weeks so have to start planning for that and I haven't figured out how to do that yet.

Rainbowz- I'm glad you're getting over you're addiction!
![]() ![]() Skully- Hmm...you know. That's true. Although, maybe not recently, I've had the impulse to go online. I can't remember when that last happened though. But I use the computer to get info for my homework, then I get immensly sidetracked and I don't finish till...well, VERY late. :| Sugahorse- I think it's only an addiction when you need to go on. Boredom shouldn't count...although...maybe it is an addiction.. One that can't be pointed out so easily, but still an addicition nevertheless? Hmm... *ponders* Perna- ![]() ![]() Hopefully, the rain stops! ![]() Take care you all! ![]() |

I don't think I'd cope without having internet. And if I don't have my computer at work, or my laptop at home, I use my cellphone

I think we all could somehow! I think having internet on the cell is bad for a good bunch of us. The internet is undoubtedly important nowadays, but for a cellphone? I think not. I ignore that feature, because it's not worth my time. (((sugahorse))) Good luck!
