Hi jordyj

I've never been a gambler. When I was little, my older sister taught me how to play cards and we gambled our pennies. Naturally, she won them all. I was furious with her for not returning MY pennies after we were through playing that game. Unfortunately, that is how the game is played. There is no predicting the outcome, even if you are an expert. It's a thriving business and the cards will always be stacked against you.

Using the winnings to pay your monthly bills is extremely dangerous. You go from taking a gamble on your money to taking a gamble on your existence.

I've been to casinos before with friends. The money I spend there is my entertainment money - money I would normally spend going out to movies or spending on a vacation. Feeding a casino my heating or lighting bill is not an option. The adrenaline rush I feel when the power goes off only leaves me cold and in the dark. It DOES feel good when the lights and heat come back on, but the roller coaster ride gets nauseating after a while. It's not something to brag about to friends, and it does not give me a sense of pride.

I hope you'll be able to recover from this addiction.

Check out Gambler's Anonymous online and in your local area---they're based on Alcoholic's Anonymous. If you can't find them, P.M. me and I'll get back to you. It helped me quite a bit. Paying the bills and remaining in control while gambling----? Sounds like denial to me and I hope you will soon recognize that (G.A. has a checklist that covers both of those things among many others.) Be well.
