My computer got a virus the other day and I just got it up and running after two days of no internet service. I was very agitated and ended up overeating asa a way to compensate my anxiety and frustration at not being able to use the internet. I literally had so many times where I was thinkin about something to look up on the copmputer like I normally did and couldn't. Everytime I saw a commercial for internet service or a commercial saying to go online for more information (on tv that is) I would get very angry. I remember this happened the last time I went without internet for a while- but I ended up reading more again that time. Now I'm just glad I have my sonnection back. Wow, I'm such an addict. lol.

Yeah, I have been really been getting into online scrabble on pogo.com. I play the robots so if I run out of time they always give me more time. lol- though I mainly do that so I can do other things at the same time online. Really sad. I can get too into it and the few friends I have, I tend to push away.

oh man me too. my laptop was down for a couple days as well, it was 5 years old and all of a sudden had some internal damage and would not turn on for the life of me. it had been so bad the last little while, i ended up putting myself in 500$ more debt just to have my computer. it is so good at distracting you but the addiction got in my way of balence with the outside world. since the net has soo many sources for things, info, chat, games... you think of it as many tools in one almost. but really it is only one interaction method.

I was "making" a schedual for my self, just using the computer, but it never got OUT of the computer is the thing. i had plans and intentions, but never did them for the most part. its worse then reading a magazine, being inspired by an art project or something but only ever fantasizing about it. i try and use it only in my down time or if i have no other option when in crisis.

Even just writting in my diary helps me distance myself from the habits of typing, and makes it more personal.
Also i found i had lost all of my schedualing ability on my own. since the computer has everything for you already, like online planners or the 'sticky note' tab on windows 7. i try not to use it for every day lists simply becuase it will give me a reason to open my computer, and then i will get sucked in. thinking "oh just for a minute"
