Hello All,
This to share my progress on fight with few bad habits. I was reading AA- 12 Steps into action but, day before y'day I was faced with stressful situation and I gave up on 12- steps. I had done good for like 2 weeks and I never felt so good but I feel now I am again where I started. This happened too many times actually. I just don't seem to get my act together in such stressful events. I just mess it up when I am back to home and where nobody to see me and look at what I am doing and things.. So what I thought, what I lack is a partner, friend or companion or forum where I can post my experiences and get strength to carry on. Also I had been reading 'Power of Habit' book and understood that we need to share and reward to develop habits. That book is phenomenal. I recommend that to everyone. OK so here I am back to square one. It feels so bad and all. But I also feel good that there is a hope, because I saw wonderful, wonderful results with 12 steps. So from tomorrow I will start with Step one and also going to do all work that need to be done. Its like restarting new life with only things that matter. Also do reply with your experiences on this thread. I would like to sponsor you, just PM me. Also I will appreciate if someone act as accountability partner for my endeavor. Thanks for reading. Take care! R |

Good idea! I hope someone will take you up on your offer. (I'm just passing through. No addiction problems, but other ones!)

R4v1 Thank you for posting. It takes alot of courage. I am glad to see you are willing to start again. Don't wait for tomarrow, go for it tonight. There was a saying "you can start your 24 hours anytime. So do what you can today. Just posting was a great first step. The other thing I think of is a reading out of "As Bill sees it" and I don't remember the exact page, but if you look up slips/relaspe in the book, theres good words. One of them is basically if you draink again, don't (figuratively) kick yourself down the stairs, but go up. What can you learn from this experience and move on. From what I have experienced, when someone slips, they have a tendancy to kick the **** out of themseves, or keep drinking. So....see what you can learn. Youve had a few weeks so you know you can do it. Go back to the halls of AA-talk about your experience. It helps in that you will get support and the hope will come. Take peoples phone numbers down. You will see, not a room full of judging eyes, but arms opened up as "welcome home" evan if this is not your first rodeo. So good work my friend. Please keep posting and sharing your recovery with us.
