I love my job so much, that I am addicted to it. I work a ton and can't get enough of it. I know it sounds weird and unusual...it's my strange addiction.

Does it cause conflict or negative aspects?

Is there a reason to it?

I can enjoy indulging in work. I've been called a workaholic at times but honestly I know why I engulf myself in it at times.. And that's due to it distracts me from inner or other issues..... And yeah I can get a high off it.. But I can also stop with working..

My apologies but I did not see this post from Jordan23 as a joke, or cracking me up. Perhaps I took the Original Poster's post too serious?

Some people do have issues with being "workaholics", and there are some times negative effects with it and other times there isn't anything wrong it too. Other people, indulge with working and may appear to be to "workaholics" actually are masking bigger issues than it may be on the surface.

Some people really have found what they love to do, and take pride in it- to which as long as there are no negative effects with it; I don't see much wrong with it and that is wonderful if they have.

Some people obsessively work, due to they get something out of it.

My dad I would say was a workaholic, which had the negative effect on his family life- neglecting his kids emotionally, though supporting them as best as he could to keep a roof over the heads, the emotional neglect was damaging.
It also hit a big "self worth" for him when he was unable and disabled to work, which is a negative effect. If you think your work is what defines you, then I would suggest to find other great aspects of yourself that isn't work related.

If this was a joke post, please have it moved to general chat and not in the addiction sub forum, thanks.

I sort of wish I have that problem lol.

Is it really a bad thing though? Maybe you could be one those people who get really immersed in your field and become really great at it.

I used to be that way too! I was doing so well that I was promoted well. Then they began expecting more and more. How much more than 80 hours could I work. I got burned out big-time after several years.
