Does anyone have any success in reducing Risperdal. I happen to be massively sensitive to it. It took me a year to go from 2mg to 1. My anxiety goes through the roof and the only thing that can help is anxiety meds which I don't want to increase because then I'm in for another fun ride down. I hate this medication...it's made me drowsy and useless and fat for 4 years and I am sorry to sound negative. I'm sure it's helped tons of you. I just need to know how to get weaned down. I have a high awareness of my illness and my Dr's blessing.

THANKS!
Rick

Hello Rick, welcome to Psych Central.

I'm not an expert on medication. You doctor has given you his blessing in this, has he told you how to taper it down? I would not recommend suddenly stopping the medication completely. If you are sure this is what you want to do, you need to do it very gradually over a period of time.

Hopefully others will chime in here with their personal experiences with it. You might also like to ask your question in the Psychiatric Medications forum.
