I was wondering whether its a possibility that any of the medications I may be taking or anxiety may be causing me to see trails. This has been going on for a couple weeks. For example, if I move my hand, I can see about 3 images of my hand as a trail after my hand has passed through the space. I do have an appointment with my GP. But thought I'd ask here to see if it could be something as simple as anxiety.

I take Zoloft 150mg - same dose for well over a month, Topiramate 25mg twice a day started 6 weeks or so, and Trazodone 50mg to sleep - over a year.

I've been experiencing frequent episodes of anxiety over the last few weeks.

Hello, silver132000. Most members are not qualified to answer your question.

What does your psychiatrist say?

I wish you well.

SSRIs are serotogenic drugs which can cause mild "visuals", similar to hallucinations from acid and mushrooms but much less intense because SSRIs act on the same system in the brain. Normally, people get no hallucinations or mental shift from them, but a few do while they are on them. The only time most people would feel it at all would be if they were to smoke marijuana in which case they would begin to notice a very mild psychadelic shift in their perceptions.

Source: Used acid/other drugs in the past, now drug free except for drinking/occassional pot
Thanks for this!

My psychiatrist is switching out my Zoloft - not sure to what yet. Of course I had a terrible bout of anxiety with that news at the 'end' of my appointment one day! He did tell me to get my family doctor to book an appointment with an ophthalmologist to get a good check of my eyes to make sure.

Thank you for your responses. I ran them by my doctor - particularly the last one - since it seemed to have some interesting facts.

Think its time to soon get to the beach as soon as there is sun long enough and heat long enough to get there!

Cheers!

This happened in my early days on nefazodone. It eventually passed.
