I am a strong person in many ways and rarely cry in front of anyone. This weekend I was away with my brother and I was ill, tired and my credit card had stopped working. I started getting upset and my brother berated me for it which made me cry. I went back to the hotel room and sat there for ages silently crying alone. I now wonder why it keeps playing on my mind and physically hurts when I think of it? Perhaps it was just because I was sad that I am always there to comfort others but nobody is for me but if anything, I feel a little traumatised by it which as I am sure you will all agree is pathetic. Where is all this emotion coming from and how can I rebalance myself and be strong again? I am not used to feeling this open and vulnerable.

Hello Jenni855, what you needed at the time was a listening ear and some understanding, instead you had a loved one berate you. Your tears are understandable and certainly not pathetic.

Yes I think the heartache of not having that and never really having that when I am hurting and sad really got to me.

Hurt, yes, but I would definitely be crying and traumatized in my hotel room if I found my credit card wouldn't go through.

That's good. I also agree that having a credit card that doesn't work would make me sad, too.

Sometimes the one thing we are crying over is also tapping into some old unresolved issues that we haven't had the opportunity to properly mourn and grieve over the loss of yet as well ...

Thanks for this!

Very true. I think it was that.
You lot are all wonderful. I love how I can explore my feelings here without being berated or made to feel silly.

It's okay to be sad and to cry, your credit card didn't work. That happened to me last Christmas where my card was scammed and the Bank cancelled it. Maybe there is more to your sorrow than just your credit card.....

Best wishes

I think so yes. Everyone has their times when it all stacks up and it gets too much.
