I have been having these weird episodes for a few months now, they come on suddenly. It's hard to describe but it's almost like I feel like what happens a few seconds before didn't really happen. It lasts from a few minutes to a few hours. It is really scary and I don't know if my effexor could be causing this. It makes me feel like something is seriously wrong and is keeping me from living a normal life.

Welcome to PC. I suppose it could be the Effexor if it has never happened before and only started after starting Effexor. It would be an unusual side effect though. I would check out what Pegasus has mentioned.
