Hey everyone, Im new here.
Ive recently been diagnosed with AvPD & (quiet)BPD. Its taking me a while to accept this and i feel even more flawed then before. My friends and family never understood me and now i feel lost. How do i cope? How do i find others that understand what im dealing with? Is there any books that i can learn more about avpd and bpd? Anyone care to share their experience with this diagnosis? |

Hi, welcome. I always thought I was depressed with occasional panic attacks thrown in...this is close to bi-polar. I self-diagnosed as AvPD but with the help of a therapist I saw that many of us have some symptoms of multiple disorders without necessarily having a full-blown disorder. Also, AVPD and social anxiety are really close. Hopefully you find a good therapist that can help you explore your real issues and deal with the underlying depression and anxiety. I'd like to believe that a personality disorder diagnosis isn't a death penalty.
