Not sure if this is the right forum to post this in, but here goes.

Over the last few weeks (probably pushing a month now), it seems like my anxiety and depression are getting worse, mainly the depression. I am not having suicidal thoughts or anything like that, but my motivation, energy and basic sense of well being are in the toilet. All I want to do is sleep or sit around the house and do nothing. I have been managing to make it to the gym a few times a week, but my workouts feel less than stellar (even though I'm moving more weight each time) and I'm exhausted by the end.

There are only a few people that know I have anxiety and depression, and even fewer that know I'm on meds. I have been told by several that I hide my emotions well and they would have never known if I didn't tell them, but inside I feel like I'm about to explode, or shut down or something.

I'm scheduled to go back to my p-doc on December 17th. I'm wondering if I should see if I can get in sooner (scheduling is a little tough because I don't live close to her office), or should I just "grin and bear it" for the next few weeks? I'm pretty sure I can cope until then, but I don't know if it's the best thing to do.

Hello Dan208, yes, I think you are the best judge of yourself and how you are feeling. You've written in your sig line that you don't feel that a couple of your medications are working so that indicates some sort of adjustment. It certainly wouldn't hurt to make an earlier appointment.

Sometimes, pdocs can consult via phone. Depending on your circumstances, thinking of how it has worked for me, a med can be faxed to the pharmacy, instructions given, consult pharmacist and that appointment acts as a buffer follow up.

I actually had a message on my phone when I got home yesterday from her secretary, needing to reschedule the appointment. Maybe it's a sign.
