Edited ~~ sorry.

short version: i'm 36 years old and i'm a student. i'm not particularly old to be a student, really, but most of the students my age are graduate students. i was a graduate student... i am a graduate... but i'm not enrolled in a graduate program (PhD level is what they are mostly concerned with) at this particular university. i'm enrolled in an undergraduate level program. and so... they will not consider me for graduate student accommodation... instead i can only be considered for undergraduate / open student accommodation. they have one hall that they say is suitable for graduates as well as undergraduates so they thought i would be alright there but...

i get teenagers banging on my door because they are playing dare truth or promise and they got dared to... etc etc... teenagers think it is fun to have friends over and they can all sit on their bed and braid each others hair, or whatever... and i'm... going slightly nutso for lack of graduate student company, honestly.

aargh.

that was the spirit of it.

If you explain your issues to the administration, maybe they will make an exception for you and let you move to the graduate area? It can't hurt to ask.

Rant as much as you need Kim. Yes go and talk to whoever knows about the accommodation and see if you can move and maybe look at any other options. It maybe that there are others like you who have moved out and set up a better living situation. If you put it to them that it is affecting your studies and to be honest that really is juvenile behaviour that you shouldn't have to put up with.

Thanks for the responses, everyone

I faintly remember filling in my bio with crap information at some point. I get annoyed at the computer for being nosey, sometimes.

I tried to change it more recently, because it can give a false impression to others, as you say, but I don't know how to.
