heres some backstory, im 16 and i have ADHD/BIPOLAR,an anxiety, on the first day of middle school i came home and my house was robbed, everything was gone, even my dogs, i was traumatized, and since the event i live in a place that is a complete living hell with my grandparents

Last week i was home alone, several weeks ago upon coming off my school bus a strange african american man was running through my yard, last week someone rang the door when i was home alone and through the peep hole it was the same man, i told my dad and he said call the police

I dialed 911 and as this is going on i was in the closet, in the closet i heard voices and saw shadows, when the 911 operator told me to make it outside, the police informed there was no sign of a forced entry

How could i have imagined all of that!? is that really possible? ive always heard things when home alone, noises in my garage, weird noises all the time, the sound of my door being kicked down, and whenever it happens i start getting very nervous, i grab my phone and a knife and search the whole house locking all doors

I really need some answers

Hello Cyric Damascus, welcome to Psych Central.

Wow! I'm really sorry to hear about the robbery and losing your dogs! That would make anyone feel upset and afraid.

It is possible that the man that was in your yard has been back again, they do say that many robbers come back to the same place shortly after the first visit.

Anxiety is fear, and anxiety can make us feel very on edge,, worried, hypervigilant and it can even make us think that we can hear things that aren't there and see things that aren't there too. You also say you have bipolar and some people with bipolar have psychosis with it. Psychosis involves hallucinations and delusions, a loss of contact with reality and the psychosis can be brought on by severe stress and trauma.

So, basically it is difficult to say online what is going on for you here, obviously the trauma has affected you, please go and see your doctor as soon as possible, it sounds like you could do with some medication to help you through after this trauma. Hugs

Welcome to the Community, Cyric Damascus. I hope the culprit who entered your home for illegal purposes is found, arrested and prosecuted.

No, you did not imagine the black man at the door, dispite your anxiety.
