I have a six month med checkup with my pdoc next week. During the last few months, I've been feeling run down, kind of like I'm in a rut. It doesn't feel like the depression that I've had in the past, so I'm not sure of its depression manifesting itself in a different form or a combination of poor diet and lack of exercise.
I don't do a lot of stuff that I used to do. It's like pulling teeth to get myself to cook and clean, I don't want to exercise anymore (something I used to look forward to doing), been avoiding remodeling work on the house, etc. I come home from work and usually end up falling asleep on the couch for an hour or so, wake up and lay around for several hours before getting up and making something simple for supper, getting my daughters lunch ready for the next day, and then sit around for the rest of the evening until I go to bed. I don't know if I should mention this to my doc or not? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk

Definitely mention it to your doctor. Sounds like it could be depression.

Also look at what is going at work that may be causing you to feel depressed. What other factors are you dealing with, that seem depressing?

Nothing new at work recently. A few months ago I took a new position and have to go in quite a bit earlier than I used to. Really nothing else I can think of.

It may not be like the depression you've had in the past, but it still sounds like depression. Depression for me is usually a very dark place, but my most recent episode was what I described as a white depression-- like being lost in a blizzard. I told my pdoc about it, we did some adjustments of medication, and it abated. So I'd say definitely tell your pdoc about it, because it's obviously having a very negative effect on your quality of life.

Most definitely mention this. This IS in fact a form of majoor depression.
People, it does you no world of good to keep secrets from your service provider. You aren't protecting yourself from anything. The only thing you are accomplishing is doing a diservice to yourself. There is no need to be embarassed; they have heard it all before. They are not there to judge you. They are there to help and they can't do that - including deciding on the best medication regimine - unless they know the whole story. |

Improving to a better job, and personal growth can cause depression for a while. This is happening because you are moving on to a better place in life, and leaving old bad feelings behind. It is a morning process.

It may sound silly but, are you getting enough sleep? It does sound like mild depression but it could also be caused by something really simple like not going to bed early enough to get the amount of sleep you need.
