I am suffering from long term deep depression. I have not had much luck with therapists in the past, but I really need help. Does anyone have suggestions on how to search for a therapist? I have contacted my insurance company before for a list and I really hate cold calling and not knowing what type of therapist I will get. "Women's Health Clinic. How can I help you?" (I'm a guy and this was very unnerving)
Please don't say talk to other people you know because I am a very private person and I want as few people to know that I am suffering with this as possible.

Maybe google for online reviews or draw names from a hat? My current t, since I was already under pdocs care when my insurance switched and I needed to find a new one, highlighted names from my insurance list. T before him, I took a look at location and all those little specialist notes online. Had an alanon book in the lobby, so I figured he could help. Location was important, because I had limitations as to how long I could be gone for. Yeah, marriage was like that for me...
Best of luck!
