I used to control my medication by adjusting it. Is it a good idea in general? I believe it's helped...Andreas

Quite honestly, the best results I've had with my meds are when I adjust them myself. I will say, however, that I've had several decades of experience with medication.

Well, different medications do different things and it depends whether it is prn or something that is prescribed as long acting. Check with your doctor on whether your own adjustment is advisable or not, many doctors are open to helping you get off medications if that is what you want.

I adjust the levels of medication myself without the consultation of a doctor. I don't touch lithium levels or arripipisol both mood stabilisers. I've tried coming off them by myself. Not a good idea really. I do however change the levels of anti-depressants or come off them altogether if I go too active and can not sleep.
