I asked the pdoc while I was in the hospital to please not just diagnose me due to prior diagnoses because I do not think they are accurate. But as always they did. There are other notes that I saw posted and researched wish sound more accurate, and they didn't actually tell me what I was diagnosed with this time, but I saw this info when the discharge nurse was going over my paperwork. I'm thinking they kept me so long because they didn't actually come up with a set diagnosis, however I'm being treated for the same things I was in the past which were ineffective. I'm actually changing moods and behaviors daily now with the new meds I'm taking. I guess what my question is, is that this is normal behavior when taking neurontin (new) Effexor (new) vistaril (new) and trazadone (taken before) I get different mood swings daily, but there is a main one for the most part everyday, but different everyday. Does that even make sense?

I neither know the diagnosis or the medications is normal for you. I do know that most medications have side-effects and if the mood was getting worse than the dosage may need to be decreased (or sometimes increased). If you mood is getting worse it is good to let your doctor know about it so he/she can alter that problem, it is also great to let him/her know if you are feeling better.
Is Pdoctor a paediatrician doctor?, depending on your age and health they may not disclose you with all the information, I assume they notified your parent/s?. I assume you will see the doctor for a check-up appointment, so in the meantime just try to take it easy on yourself and be mindful about your behaviour correlating with the medication, maybe keep a diary. |

If I understand correctly these new medication changes are fairly recent. Some may take up to 2mos before a positive effect is noticable. It may be a challenging time until that happens. Can you ask the pdoc(s) if this is normal or better yet, ask them about what changes they desired when prescribing them to you?
In the meantime perhaps you might come up with a coping plan. Mindfullness and Distraction work well for me. |

Agree on effects on RX and need for communication , diary ,and speaking up for the sake of your mind/body connection. Been there also and by the time I figured out that effexorvwas not part of my picture, getting off was like being a junkie on withdrawals - horrid! So , please be good to yourself and your future and realize medication is there to help you and yet is only as good as the correct "recipe". A suggestion- one way you might want to consider is the library - either visiting or volunteering. It is quiet, it eases you back into the world but limits your exposure to forced people interaction yet allows you to begin somewhere and going onc a week for a day you could either find a bus, a cab or catch a ridev. Just a though to consider. Always a community program that is very low cost as well generally.... Hoping for you to already be having better days...

Glad to read you are feeling better. I agree with everyone's suggestions, mood journal was key for me-many yrs ago because they kept trying so many meds combos, and just kept telling me-it's med side effects, give it few weeks, you will adjust...that was bull s@$!. Finalky, side eccects so bad, went to ER-they were like yes, this is out of control, you are right/wrong meds for you!so I'm hoping you can find gp or pdoc who will listen about your meds/moods,etc! Def write it down, along with sleep/foods/activitiez/people-so you can see if was med or possible triggers...
