Recently I have discovered that I have a neurotic personality type.
After some research I have also seen how this personality is not completely bad, but instead can lead to great creativity. My question is, would reducing my anxiety levels also reduce my creativity? Also, what are some other ways to reduce the negatives of this personality type? My guess is it's all about anxiety/self-esteem. The results of my personality test shows: DOMAIN/Facet Score NEUROTICISM 83 ..Anxiety 93 ..Anger 35 ..Depression 63 ..Self-Consciousness 99 ..Immoderation 38 ..Vulnerability 92 |

Hello neuroneuro: This appears to be your first post here on PC... so... welcome to PsychCentral... from the Skeezyks!
![]() ![]() I'm afraid I don't know the answer to your question. My personal experience has been that my unrelenting anxiety has hampered any creativity I ever had because I could never simmer down long enough to focus on any one thing in particular... plus I always struggled with a lot of depression as well which also had a negative effect. But I don't know how common this experience is. Hopefully some other members, here on PC, who are more familiar with neurotic personality traits will yet come along & reply to your post. My best wishes to you... ![]()

LOL, they still use that term? These days we know about anxiety disorders and we know they are not created the way Freud said...

If you add all those numbers up on your calculator, they would equal your creativity IQ.
