I can't drive and I basically can't use public transportation to go anywhere, seeing that the closest stop is a 45 minute walk away (which, in this blistering heat and humidity right now isn't doing my asthma any favors).

I could use Uber, but I'd need to get a second job, so I'm considering using Uber to get to my second job and back when need be if I can get my application accepted.

Anyways, in the meantime, I was wondering if online therapy was an option. Is this viable? Does it work?

There are some great CBT programs out there on line. Most follow a 3 month duration. Many have a real therapist to make contact with. Contact your Employee Assistance Plan if you have one and they can get you access to several at no cost.

I've used Betterhelp and found an AWESOME therapist through there.. I now do skype lifecoaching with which is super helpful. !! you of course can do online therapy as well and most times when I've used them I got great people, a few times I didn't feel the connect and they switched me no questions asked .. and now I got the best.. I've also used Talk space,, not as great luck on there at first, I tried several times, felt I wasn't getting much ,, until I got Kat!! She was awesome, and although I'm not with her now, I do touch base with her from time to time , I'm in in person and have my life coach , but she was truly helpful. You have someone that nearly everyday writes to you as things come up.. maybe they don't write as much,, but its a form of someone being there supportng you , and can really be reassuring , especially for people who can't get around.!! thats why I did it.. I would totally try either of them and better help gives you a free week with your counselor to try them out.!

I've tried Better Help and Talk Space and both are good. Seem to like Better Helps format. I too had to switch counselors several times to get one that understood me. Karissa Brennan was great on Talk Space. I talked with her the longest.
