I have been a member of this forum for under a year, and everything has changed. Hardly any of the members who were on here when I started are still around.
It seems like people join, post a lot, and then vanish. For this reason the term "community" is a loose one. I did not really come on here for entertaining, or for support. Mainly I was seeking out information on psych medication. I did get a real education. I am not on psych medication now. When I first came on here I felt that I needed benzodiazapines in order to survive. I no longer feel that way, and I am grateful to Psych Central for convincing me that many natural ways are just as good. I miss some of the members who were on here a year ago. I think coming on Psych Central has helped me but I also think I am seeking more engagement with real life, which is appropriate. In fact, coming on Psych Central is a bit triggering. I wish I could thank all the members who helped me when I first joined a year ago, but so many of them left the forum. It was requested by some members that when someone decides to leave they not delete their profile. So I intend to keep my profile up, even after I leave for good. For now I will continue to check in, but probably less frequently. Thank you to everyone who contributes, and cares.

hi dechandawa,i understand what you are saying but you have to let new blood in to keep things going,its just a circle of life on the forum,i think its a good thing when some people disapear as it might mean they dont feel their problem is as big an issue to talk about anymore.
i dont know you but you sound like a wonderful,caring person so i think the forum needs people like you if you were to stick around.

My Support Forums is the online community that was originally begun as the Psych Central Forums in 2001.
