Hello to everyone, this is my first post as a member of this forum (aside from the intro post). I hope you'll have some answer or advice to my condition.

I'm dealing with anxiety almost 6-7 months already. In the meantime, I had a fear of going outside. Every time that happened my stomach felt all painful and uncomfortable. After a few months of those problems, I got my head clear and started to go out and have fun.

However, after 2-3 weeks I started to feel nausea and slight pain in my upper stomach. At the beginning it was constant so I wen to see my doctor. He said that it was due to my anxiety condition and gave me some medication. I feel better after using the medication, but I still have those symptoms. I already wen to see him twice and he seemed like it was not a big deal. I feel nausea almost after every meal. In the morning I have slight stomach pain at the center of the stomach.

My question is, do you think this is due to my anxiety problems or it is something else?

I want some opinion of you guys, thank you.
Hugs from:

Hi, Boban12, and welcome to Psych Central! I have generalized anxiety disorder and know that anxiety can cause all sorts of physical symptoms. But I would talk to your doc about your symptoms to see if there are actual physical causes.

Here's the forum where you can meet others of us who deal with anxiety:http://forums.psychcentral.com/anxiety-panic-phobias/

Hello Boban: Yes it is certainly possible what you are experiencing is the result of anxiety. But it can also be all too easy for doctors to dismiss a person's condition by chalking it up to anxiety... especially if they know anxiety is something you struggle with.

You know how much discomfort you are in. If this is something that is troublesome for you, my suggestion is to either go back to see the doctor you've been seeing again, or perhaps consider getting a second opinion, if you can, possibly from a doctor who specializes in problems related to the digestive system. I wish you well...

Welcome I'm sorry you're dealing with anxiety
What about talking about this with your doctor and explaining the situation?
