I don't know why, but I have the irrational fear of losing people I love (phisically). This happens the most with my father. As he comes home from work late at night, many times I fear something bad will happen to him. Sometimes this continues while he's at home. Right now I'm scared he might suddenly suffer a heart attack. I want to get rid of this fear. How can I?

I am so very sorry, sociopathbg. I have the same terrible fear. I am paralyzed with terror of losing loved ones, both people and pets. It is wrecking my life...I am in a constant state of fear about this. I actually have lost many loved ones. I need to know, too, how to cope. All I can suggest is to have faith in creation, the universe, God...Whatever you call it.
If anyone else here has any suggestions, I would be grateful to hear them. |

These kind of "What Ifs" are caused by anxiety. Work on reducing anxiety if you can.
