The hostile reactions, the guilt trips.

I responded to an aquaintance's contant complaints she couldn't buy food with a load of groceries only to be chastized for not giving money instead. She turned around and pleaded for me to again help her. Nope.

After months of driving an aquaintance around without an acknowledgement let alone offers of paying me back in some way I simply stopped responding to their pleas. Their own response was to tell everyone else what a hag I was being as though I owed them the rides. Good luck getting one.

Any similar experiences?

Sometimes you can help someone by NOT helping them. She may be mad, but you did the right thing.

Sounds like people that you don't need in your life.
