If anyone's been in group therapy and has had gone through a group screening, can you tell me what it's like? Thanks.

Been in groups before but never heard of a group screening.
Sounds like something the military does

I would guess it is just an informal interview to be sure she's a good fit for the group. They may just be looking for red flags (unwillingness to follow group rules for confidentiality/outside interaction; inability to share time, respect space/time with other members of group, etc.) I don't think she means they are all being screened at the same time; I think she means being screened individually for future participation in a group therapy. situation

It's a group run by my University Counseling Center. My former counselor basically told me that the group screening is when I meet with the group leaders (herself and another guy). It's to basically find out if the group will be a "good fit" for me.
The group name is "Creating Healthy Relationships", and I definitely think that it will be a good fit for me, but the whole possibility of being rejected from it is really stressing me out, as I've basically formed my whole class schedule around it. |

I responded to your other thread about this. To reiterate here, I find this troublesome. In my opinion the reverse should be the case - you should be determining if it is right for you.
