I find it consistently challenging to think straight, or at all period. It s a struggle to read and comprehend what I am actually reading. I find my self having to read something several times over to even process what is there. Even when I do it s like it never even happened. It s as though the information just goes into my head then just disappears. Memories seem to just be random and few. Independent thought is just as challenging. My mind does not feel empty though, just clogged. It feels like there s a bunch of information in my head almost to much but I can t seem to access it, or intentionally add to it. I ll have my moments of intellectual prowess, or information intake, but it just seems incredibly random.

I Have ADHD and depression/anxiety I take Medication for this and it started working for the first week causing the clog to go away but came back the week after. I have to push myself to focus, I feel disconnected from my emotions I can never tell what Im feeling I can be attracted to someone one minute and completely not interested the next without reason. Its also hard to be a conversationalist as my mentality just shuts off unless Im really hyperactive. I dont feel anything but pain from "adult activities" I also don't feel anything from kissing and it really puts me down as I've had these problems my entire life and feel like it's gotten worse and there's really nothing that makes me happy. I can't tell if this is part of depression or a serious health problem or not but would be really interested to know if others have this problem!

Medications can cause this, talk to your doctor about this.

I've had it my whole life and is not due to medication.

I've had this my whole life unfortunately it's definitely not caused by medication.

I'm sorry you're having such a tough time. One of the previous posters mentioned meds. Could a medication change possibly help? Best wishes.

Sorry you're having a rough time. Maybe talk to your psychiatrist to see if meds would help. Sometimes there's nothing to do but wait for the depression to pass, but if meds help you won't continue to feel that way.
