My mood has been all over the place for a long time now, and I noticed how sometimes I'll look in some direction and I would see something move (remind me of an animal or whatever) then when I look again it is an inanimate object.

Like today while I was shooting hoops I thought I saw a white cat moving then when I looked again in confusion it was a smaller silver trash can.

I think I just have bad eyesight from playing video games, and when people say hallucinations I think things much worse.

Video Games could play into this, best to cut back on them and shoot more hoops. You seem normal to me.

If you see something in the corner of your eye it is often movement. That field is specialized to detect movement and also the pathway through your brain is different and faster than your normal visual route. The idea is that it should protect you from danger.

Sometimes when the brain for some reason is a bit on overdrive, what is in the corner of your eye can be detected as moving even if it isn't. That is usually because of stress or massive usage of visuals in general. It can however be a symptom of true hallucinations but that is less common.

Anxiety can put us on red alert and so if you see something from the corner of your eye then the brain can come to the worst case scenario for the fight or flight action. I wouldn't say that is a hallucination. Just an overactive mind trying to keep you safe.
