yes they are, many mental health agencies have their own forums where they can log in using a user name and a password and in some cases their certification/ licensing number.

if you are a treatment provider check with your work agency, they may have a professionals only forum boards for you where you and your co workers can help each other. those you work with can also point you in the direction of websites for professionals only sites.

another place you can access professionals only forums for treatment providers is by going to workshops/ seminars for professionals. they are a wealth of information and resources for treatment providers.

I would think that if such a site were to exist, it would breach the dr/patient confidentiality clause.

no they dont violate confidentiality. the way my own treatment provider explained it is, treatment providers are human, they dont know everything, they are just like us when we come online complaining about our own treatment providers. treatment providers have to have a way to find better options for their clients and one of those ways is to be part of a self help forum for treatment providers...

example if my treatment provider is having a problem with me and they dont know what to do they can post something like....

I have a client A that has dissociative disorders, bipolar disorder, panic/ anxiety disorders. I am looking for resources for them around the issue of abuser being released from prison, here is what we have done so far but the issues persist. does anyone have any idea's of what to try next?

then another treatment provider may reply with you know I had a similar problem with my client who was abused as child and now as an adult is prosecuting the abuser. the abuser just got out on bail and my client is so afraid they wont even leave their home.. what I did was....

then another treatment provider may reply with hey heres something that worked for my client....

another may ask is your Dissociative client DID, maybe you can get them to ask inside...

and the original treatment provide may say yes my client had DID but now integrated asking inside will no longer work, thanks for the ideas will try the others.

in other words its just like being on psych central where we are complaining and comparing and getting help for our own problems. my treatment provider can go on a treatment providers only site and get help for her and her clients from the whole world just like we do as clients in therapy.

they do not go online saying such and such using our real names , locations and dishing dirt on us. they work out their work related issues with being treatment providers and gathering help for those times when they are stuck with what to do about our problems. saves them going through things like work burn out, frustration and so on that can build up in treatment providers, just like we can get frustrated and so on about our treatment providers.
