Background: Pure OCD, Anxiety, Depression, ADD, Panic Disorder etc. Not related to this post.

Long story short. Every time I have a cold, especially when related to the sinuses, I get into an almost euphoric state of mind. With almost exclusively positive memories, music sounds better, I get more creative and things smell better (everything smells the same but better). I feel like I become the normal me and it feels great.

Ideally I would like to stay in this state of mind but it goes away once the cold or sinus infection has passed. No one that I have talked to has heard of anyone with a similar "condition".

Any thoughts?

Hello TomW: No... I can't say as I've ever heard of anything such as this. So I'm afraid I can't be of any help with it. However I see this is your first post here on PC. So... welcome to PsychCentral! I hope you find the time you spend here to be of benefit.

I don't know, of course, if you're here simply seeking advice with regard to this particular concern or if you plan to hang in here with us. However, should you be planning to continue on (we hope you do)... may I suggest you introduce yourself over on PC's New Member Introductions forum? Here's a link:

There's a lot of support that can be available here on PC. The more you post, & reply to other members' posts, the more a part of the community you will become. Plus there are the chat rooms where you'll be able to interact with other PC members in real time (once your first 5 posts have been reviewed & approved.) So please keep posting!

Hi Skeezyks! Thanks for your reply. Yeah, its a bit strange. Would be cool if someone had experienced something similar.

Im not hitting the forums as actively as before. I miraculously fixed myself with Methylfolate and some other supplements. Ill write a little intro in the new members section.

Thanks!

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
