Eyes are invaluable resources in human life. Think twice before closing your eyes. how would you feel if you did not have eyes?

My uncle committed suicide but he donated his corneas, and even though his life ended, he gave the gift of sight to another.

I know many people who do not have working eyes, I am also going blind due to my MS disease. not having eyes isnt so bad these days, there are many resources and technological equipment and service animals that enable a blind person to function just like a completely normal person. most people do not even realize I am losing my sight because I have had my service animals for years, and I dont go around with my arms out in front of me searching like they show in the movies. there are classes that teach the blind how to use their other senses to compensate for their lack of sight.

my point and answer to your question... how would I feel if I did not have my eyes... the same as I did a year ago, 10 years ago and so on when I did have working eyes. my eyes dont define me, I am who and what I am with and without eyes. nothing changes other than educating myself so that when the nerves in my eyes are no longer working and I can no longer see I will be able to function normally just like I have always done.

not saying I wont miss visually seeing my children and my wife and all but a blind person can still see by use of tech equipment and relying on their senses.

suggestion ever play the game blind mans bluff"? its an interesting game that my family plays alot of since we have young children. one person puts a blindfold on their eyes and relies on their other senses to locate each other or an object. Im actually pretty good at that, its amazing what other sense can tell a person.

btw for those interested there are therapies and medical treatments for people with anxiety, stress, and migraines just to name a few that require complete darkness / putting a blindfold over eyes, deprive self of sight to de stimulate and relax. you can get these type of aroma therapy blindfolds in any department store where they sell bath and body supplies. it will give you an idea of how you would react if you went totally blind or could not rely on your eyes or have a physical or mental issue where depriving yourself of sight will help with stress and anxiety.
