What is something you have been doing for so long that you don’t even think twice about?

I hate loud noises. At restaurants when I flush the toilet I cover my ears. I’ll also avoid the hand dryers if there are paper towels available. I get kind of relieved when I see the hand towels.

I realized tonight that I do these things, subconsciously.

Is anyone else like this with anything?

I constantly apologise, even when the fault wasn't mine. I am forever thanking people too when it is I who should be thanked. Maybe this is a Canadian thing, I dunno. But It is a habit that these things blurt out of my mouth without thinking about them.

For instance I get bumped or jostled and I turn to the person and say, "Sorry."

Open up the laptop, sit at the computer or look at my phone. I honestly gravitate to anything that has the internet on it. It's really out of control.

I brush my hair from my face. It's only problematic when I help serve food sometimes.
I open my phone way too much. I "jump to attention" with a beep-which I needed to silence it especially at work; I can receive my work e-mails on it and I found myself at my desk working and 'ding, ding, ding' when it was on my work computer. I used to only silence during nighttime for better sleep.

I am the opposite. I don't react to notifications (ie. texts, messenger, email) immediately on my phone. Never when I am in public. It has become such a habit I don't even realise I am doing it. I have put a lot of people off by this I know. I figure if it is important enough they will call and leave a message.

I sing along with the music in stores. Sometimes I dance too. I don't realize I'm doing it until someone looks at me funny. That doesn't stop me, I just become aware of it.

I put my knee on the counter when washing dishes. (I'm tall)

Like an above poster I also say sorry for everything. Definitely a Canadian thing.

I also.....am embarrassed about this, flip people the bird when they are jerks while driving. I so don't mean to. It just happens.

check the time.

I check it for everything... and now it's like I check it every minit.
people say to me.. do you really need to know the time?. you checked it like a second ago.

and I'm like really?. I did?

making jokes about everything

I run a joke group so I'm always online trying to find new things to post to it, but now I just... make jokes about everything.

even if it's not funny- I find myself doing it

and it's not always appropriate, either
first thing in the morning- always go and sit in a certain chair

it doesn't matter what i've said, or what i've planned, I go straight to that chair

when playing monopoly, always buying the train stations first- despite not really finding much use for them (and running out of money really fast!)

talking like a certain kkids tv presenter from a programme I watch.. I'll stand in the middle of the room and say something like...

" ah look a picture of a lion. you say, lion."

and i've done it for when I'm eating dinner too.

" oh look, a pizza. you say, pizza." people must think... what?

but I watch it so often it's just an automatic thing

make random hand movements.

I do them all the time when I'm listening to my music, and now just at random moments too

when meeting someone for the first time, starting the conversation with

"hi, I'm ___, and I have these conditions"

announcing (to no one in particular) I am doing something.

I did it just now- I needed a drink of water and got up and said

"I just need a drink"
