My anxiety is over the top. I have situational stress. I outlined it in the thread where I explained why my life was no longer sustainable.
Where I live marijuana is legal. I could not smoke it because I quit smoking and cannot put anything foreign into my lungs. But I think you can ingest it. Marijuana VS Valerian.

Hi Dech. Yes, you can ingest it - cookies. I'm guessing there'd be all kinds of weed recipes online as well. I think if you're desperate enough to overcome your depressions and anxieties and you think marijuana might be worth a try then you have my support. Obviously you'd want to do a bit of online research first, but I used to smoke that stuff like there was no tomorrow, wooo!, but not anymore. One possible side effect is paranoia you see, so that never used to mix well with my anxiety.
Really hope you're going to get through all this my friend. But you have a good brain so I know you'll figure it out. |

Ah, Motie. I am very well acquainted with marijuana. I used it (illegally) for years. But nowadays it is extremely potent. We have "green pharmacies" about every two blocks, now. It's pretty crazy when it's legalized. I did once go and purchase a week's worth for a back sprain. Every night I smoked the weed and did an hour of yoga. In a week I was "cured" -- no more back ache. And it was such a small vial of marijuana...just a medicinal week's worth. In the past I never ingested it...ever. Motie, I'm an old hippie. We smoked it. Seriously. Smoked. It. I am thinking ingesting it could cause stomach aches. IDK. I never ate it. ![]()

Yes, I know, it has a lot of different medicinal properties, amazing. I'm convinced it cured me of my asthma between the ages of 18 - 20. I never needed inhalers if I had weed. They used to prescribe it in the old days for bronchitis. Yes, Colorado. Was international news when it became legal. Attitudes globally are changing I feel. Anyway... Try an internet search about stomach complaints and ingesting. You should find the answer. I hope you're going okay, I'm sending out my full support. |

Yeah, but I'm curious. Did you ever ingest it? Did you ever try smoking mullein for bronchitis? Because of running I don't want to smoke anything. I guess maybe I could get THC in a tincture. IDK. IDK. I miss my benzos.

Yep, I understand you not wanting to smoke it for running, sure. Maybe pop down to one of your marijuana outlets and have a natter with them. I'm sure they'd be full of useful information. My goodness. This anxiety/depression is a real hassle all right isn't it. |

Another cool thing if you are trying to quit smoking tobacco is to smoke mugwort. My son turned me on to it. (We have a lot of herb shops here...as in...herbals) Anyway, my son warned me mugwort can cause weird dreams. And boy, did it. But great dreams...like chirpy wild sexy dreams.

Do you think it's strange that you and I are the only two people talking on this thread...but the number of views keeps going up? ![]() You can actually order mugwort on Amazon.com. It's really relaxing. Much better for you than that old evil tobacco! ![]()

A little bit, yeah. But give it some time you watch, people will start to venture their views and opinions [I think]. Yeah, mugwort sounds very tempting. The meds I'm on help to a degree, but I really want to nail this using my own inner resources really. I think I'm getting there slowly. Yes, the evil tobacco. My only true friend, heh. |

I use cannabis for anxiety and it works amazingly well. I rarely smoke it because I just don't want to. Lol. I get rice krispie squares, brownies and cookies. Satisfies my sweet tooth. I also used to use the oils, but they did terrible things to my stomach.
Cannabis is legal here with a prescription but as someone in a local cannabis club put it: they will write a prescription for an itchy butt. Lol. |

I would be careful with the THC concentrations. THC puts my anxiety into overdrive, and it was a horrendous feeling--and I didn't know I had anxiety then. I recently tried CBD only pouches, and it was relaxing, but needed something extra. Next I will try an 18-1 CBD to THC ratio tincture.

Cannabis is amazingly useful here during Somatic Experiencing/anti-d withdrawl and is a major contributor to the healing process for me over the past year.
It's basically legal here and can be bought from licensed associations, of which there are many in Barcelona. I first started using it (again after 5 year abstinence) soon after starting Venlafaxine withdrawal when the symptoms kicked it! Immediate relief from many withdrawal induced and other mental health symptoms. I titrated the dose up to about 1g/day over 2 months or so, mainly smoked without tobacco. It's weird that if I drop below that dose my body craves it, but never wants any more than that. I use a combination of Indica and Sativa strains and have found that with careful use of these I can manage mood drops and anxiety/stress. Indica has a relaxing, calming effect where as Sativa strains are more uplifting and boost mood but can worsen anxiety. When smoked the effects are almost immediate, so with regular dosing through the day with some flexibility to account for mood variations I can reach a stability that I never got close to with meds. My wife drinks a lowish dose in a tea every night and it works wonders for general life stress. I also tried CBD powder for a while and found that great for anxiety etc. Give it a try Dech, but careful with the Sativas! |

Make sure there's no family history of schizophrenia. "Mary Jane" can bring it on earlier or perhaps cause it in susceptible people, according to research. I personally wouldn't touch it. I take enough prescribed drugs that mess with my brain as it is.
