I've been wondering about this lately. I mean. They are so crazy over boys! They always "fall in love" with some guy that they even forget about their friends. And of course, that guy happens to be a player and "breaks her heart" and then she becomes really depressed. Why? Why do they fall in love so quickly? I myself am a girl but have never fallen in love and never planned to. What is the point in falling in love except for having sex and children? I think the world would be a better place if girls stopped falling in love with every guy they see. Can't they only be friends? I have started to kind of hate these girls and also their "boyfriends" because I think their relationship is fake. Their "love" is fake. It is nothing more than infatuation.
Someone please explain this situation to me. I'm confused...
Thanks for this!

I think it's just part of their world view and also part of the social group dynamic. If most people in the group are doing this, then everyone will want to because most people don't want to be left out or don't want to be without friends.

Also being friends with someone is equal to being in a romantic relationship. Neither is above the other. So I wouldn't pay attention to phrases like "just friends".
Because with that thinking it means that the relationship you have with your family is also below a romantic relationship, which isn't the case at all.

i think you have to look at the culture of which they are being brought up in. Ever walk by a 'junior' clothing department or store? Ever consider the media and celebrities they have to emulate? Ever check out the magazines they are reading? Our society is sexing them up at a very young age (heck, 'training bras' and leopard skin outfits are even being sold to six year olds). When I was young (I am 51) sure we were interested in boys but the clothing sold in stores for us didn't tart us up like sex pots. Teen celebrities didn't bump and grind their way through music videos or make themselves out to be sex pots. Heck, the most scandalous thing we saw was a teenage Brooke Shields advertising a Jordache jean commercial.

Tart us up like sex pots? That just made me laugh so hard.

I was a boy crazy teen. I "fell in love" and had drama. I have no problem admitting that either. Some of the best years of my life. I learned a lot about the opposite sex, about myself and about what I wanted. I still talk to some of my teenage flings too. I've also been married almost 12 years.

What's the point of love? Simply it's an amazing feeling for those of us who can and want to. It's an experience like no other. There is nothing wrong with wanting or not wanting to love.
