This might be all over the place, but I really need help anytime I try to talk to my parents about it.. they always say "you've never been molested or in a bad family home blah blah blah.." but they don't understand besides those things problems can develop no matter the scenario or circumstances.. I always feel insecure, useless, guilt, and just not good enough or whenever i start something I always after a small amount of time I give up and dont want to finish it unless I really have too even if its like games I used to love I just turn it off for no reason after a while because i cant seem to concentrate on one thing for a while without switching to something else I just have no motivation and im also always very impulsive and ready to snap at any minute and my moods always change it varys from a few hours or minutes everyday like, i could be happpy at on moment then sad or very depressed then mad and then neutral and then mad or sad or even horny its like I change into a completely different person and then sometimes i forget i was even in that type of mood at all and I always feel like im doing something wrong or not enough like I do the most to keep a person around or try to manipulate them to feel bad ... its alot

((((shanicechan)))) You don't have to be molested to suffer. I'm sorry you're struggling Do you see a therapist? It seems like that could help you cope with what you're feeling right now. Many hugs

Hi shanicechan,

Welcome to PC! I see that this is your first post.
Have you considered reaching out to a school counselor? You could talk about losing interest/focus in things or having emotions that feel all over the place or lack of motivation or purpose?
Not sure why your parents stated what they did, but you don't need past traumas to find a need for someone to talk to.

Hope you find the support that you need.

Hi shanicechan and welcome to PC!

Sounds like your parents have no understanding of mental illness. You do not have to have a trauma in your past to have problems like these. I am clinically depressed, and I have no history of trauma. It's just the way my brain is. I can feel miserable when nothing is wrong in my life.

If your parents don't understand, I do think talking to a school counselor might help. Joining this site was also a good move. I think seeing a doctor would help you too, but I know that will be hard to do if you're a minor and your parents don't understand.

first I see that you are new so I would like to point you to the disclaimer at the bottom of the page. most people dont scroll all the way to the bottom of the page they are reading and can miss this important information...

there is a disclaimer at the bottom of the page that to me means no one here can diagnose what your problems are... for you to contact your treatment providers.

that said I can tell you based only on what you posted that this can be just about any mental and physical healt h problem out there, or even just age related stuff. (which is probably why we are not supposed to tell each other what is wrong with each other. we can accidentally diagnose you with something you may not have or miss something that you may have and either one can put your life in danger.)

my suggestion is if you really feel something is wrong with you, sit down and write what you feel is wrong with you, then have a family meeting, ask your parents to please hear you out and read what you wrote to them, then ask them if they will schedule an appointment with your family doctor. (my niece did this and added in that she would pay for the doctor appointment herself from her allowance, and what ever other odd jobs she could get) then you see your medical doctor, show them what you wrote, they will tell you what is wrong with you or refer you on to a mental health professional who will give you lots and lots of testes (some just you answering their questions and others may be written) and diagnose whats wrong if there is anything.

Hello shanicechan: Welcome to PsychCentral. Of course, we here on PC can't diagnose you. But based on what you wrote, it's sounds as though what you are struggling with could possibly be depression or perhaps bipolar disorder? There are forums, here on PC, dedicated to these conditions. Reading through some of the posts in those forums may help you to clarify what you are experiencing. Here are links to those forums, just in case you haven't already found them:

https://forums.psychcentral.com/depression/

https://forums.psychcentral.com/bipolar/

By the way, you might also want to consider introducing yourself over on PC's new members introductions forum:

https://forums.psychcentral.com/new-...introductions/

One other thing that may be helpful to you would be to take some of the quizzes & tests that are on offer here on PC. Here's a link to the listing of quizzes & tests that are available:

Psychological Quizzes and Tests

I hope you find PC to be of benefit.

Hi, Shanicechan,

Welcome!!

Bless your heart, honey, sounds like you have a lot going on! That's a lot to manage alone.

I am in favor of you finding someone to talk to in person, if that is possible. Some therapists do video counseling which I think is very cool, personally.

There is a wealth of valuable information on the PsychCentral website. Skeezyks has posted some links for you to read.

I hope you spend some time on here, you'll find lots of folks who can relate to what you are talking about.

Thank you guys a lot for replying back and caring , but no I don’t see a therapist .. I’ve tried to speak to my parents about it but they just brush it off as teenage things there’s a lot more but I wouldn’t know where to start and the ironic thing is , I posted that the day I was going through a mental breakdown at like 4 am in the morning and I have mental breakdowns a lot and switch to a completely different mood sometimes in between it or straight after and forget I even had it . I just really feel as though I have a mental disorder , I’m always self conscious insecure and feel a fume of jealousy whenever something happens with my bf and I feel like illl lose him eventually if I don’t get this fixed because he doesn’t understand that I get so mad and fustrated or sad for sometimes no reason at all it’s like someone is taking over my body and I can’t stop it..
